This trade isn't great for LA at all. But.... considering they're destined for Howard too, that's where they win.

Really goes to reflect just how far I actually have fallen. If this happened a few years ago I would have been cussing up a storm and breaking things. Now? Lots of apathy and thoroughly resigned to the fact that Howard WILL be coming too. Not much to get angry about. That's just how it works and that's how desensitized I've gotten.

If West accepts the MLE, I'll be sick. He's got several suitors, including a team ready made for him in Indy.

Yep. To say Odom and Gasol aren't worth anything or valued is irresponsible at best.

EDIT: that said, to have them as the pieces going out for a Paul trade is pretty... wild

Seems to be an 8th seed to me...

I understand the frustration, but it's crazy how low everyone thinks of Pau and Lamar. You think the Lakers went to three straight finals because of Kobe? Please. Kobe's been more distraction than anything. He isnt the same Kobe from before, and the LAkers have been forcing him to handle the ball. He isn't the Kobe from the 1st 3peat, I'd say its arguable that Kobe's impact on the last 3 finals has been less than it was in his first 3peat. Great credit is due to Lamar, Pau, and Bynum and it hurts to see Lamar and Pau hit the door.

I don't blame GSW or LAC for not trading for CP3 without the promise of next year. I think NO "front office" understands this pretty clearly. I still think we have to wait to see what NO Does with Pau and Lamar (whether running them for a bit or trading them for a new set of rims) before we see the full value of the trade (Marc Gasol anyone?).

Damn, i thought CP3 had an empire state of mind. Well wonder how this gonna work with the triangle offense if Coach Brown does it?

That's what bothers me, this franchise will go nowhere if they keep competing for the 8th seed, etc.

                          That team ain't ****.

Best case scenario, they'll back their way into the playoffs with this being a short season and then they'll crash right back to earth where they should be.

I agree it's wild, but that's why I love Mitch. While other GM's panic, he pulls strings.

Pump the brakes on that. NO would still be formidable. A potential lineup of Dragic, Martin, Odom, Scola and Okafor can definitely get you in the playoffs. You still have Ariza coming off the bench. A couple more pieces and they'd be straight for at least 3 years. Not a real long-term solution, but solid for the time being.

Bigeast believes Odom has very little value.
