Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
You are assuming they land Dwight (which is a safe assumption) but as of now I think they are worse off.
I disagree that Kobe is worse with the ball. He has never been a great off ball guy. Him running through screens? For what? Spot up jumpers? That is not Kobe's game. Great, they now have Chris Paul who can skillfully pass the ball to Kobe in the high post.
So Paul may work his "magic," maybe but I prefer the magic of the Kobe/Pau pick and roll. well thats gone. LA better get Dwight.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
i hope your right about dallas....but they are getting killed in free-agency right now
i'm not sure they can get deep this year they lost 4 key rotation players and that's a lot of talent that helped them win a title
as much as i hate the Lakers i think having Paul, Kobe and Bynum or Howard will make them the favorites again.
Unless of course those guys start battling injuries all year...
I'm happy about the trade but I still think OKC is a better team. Also the Lakers have 2 weeks to get used to playing with a new PG and a new offensive and defensive system. It won't be easy.Comment

My point is that same draft the Bulls drafted Aldridge then traded him away for Thomas and I'd like to think Aldridge is almost a core kind of guy. In short hindsight can either make you look stupid or like a genius.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Can you tell me how this deal made sense from a Lakers point of view?
Wasn't there main advantage their backcourt size?
Sure you get probably the best pure PG in the league, but you lose the 6th man of the year and a perennial all-star PF who took a LOT of pressure off of Andrew Bynum. I'm still not sold on Bynum's ability to be the #1 guy down low. Also with Kobe's abilities diminishing before our eyes, this LA team is going to be right back at square one in the next 2-3 years.
This seems like a band aid for LA, because I think now that there is no way there are going to be able to get Dwight as well.
I read also that the Hornets and Rockets are working on a deal to bring Gasol to NO as well? Is this true?
If so, they immediately become deeper than the Lakers.
N.O. has 7 solid players(Odom, Ariza, Okafor, Jarret Jack, Marco B, Dragic, K.Martin, potentionally Jason Smith)...Lakers have Kobe, Bynum, CP3, and artest.
Agreed. Are you worried this will hurt his legacy? I am...Comment

I'd imagine the Magic are going to try and get the most value out of him, instead of making the mistake of watching him walk.Comment
