Number of "solid" players doesn't mean anything when the talent of the other players far outweighs those "solid" players.

I am praying they get Dwight as well. I really like Gasol & Odom though, but you can't pass up on Paul given the chance to get him.

I highly doubt your interest will be 100% dead, I'm guessing more like 76%

You just know they would. There is not a doubt in my mind they would.

Lakers priority at this point has to be fixing the 4.
You're fine with paying him ~$15 million a year to pass it to Bryant in the high post?
I'm not saying that they are completely incompatible, what I am saying is that Bryant+Gasol>>>>>>Bryant+Paul.
However, add in Dwight and the equation changes. But without Dwight, Lakers are worse off. Especially when you realize how versatile and crucial Odom was.

As for fixing the 4 spot, okay, how do they do that? They have hardly any depth anymore so their only option is using the MLE for...who? What are their options?

So it appears that Houston is giving up Martin, Scola, Dragic, and a 1st Round Pick for Pau Gasol. That seems like a lot to give up. From the looks of their roster (I know it can change a lot in the next few weeks) I don't think that they're any better than a 7th or 8th seed either.

Bynum and a bag of basketballs?

I really don't see anyone else on the Laker roster worth trading for.

Lakers finally got CP3...but now they are lacking size especially with a hole at the 4 position. I wonder who they will go after now...

Last I checked the Bulls are in a better position than HOU

That has nothing to do with the fact that they gave up Rudy Gay for NOTHING

                      they got Gasol for Kwame

and even after this you still give the NBA the benefit of the doubt

Not really sure what the plan is here any more. I guess just be middle of the pack until we get lucky and draft the next superstar that happens to fall to 14th-18th in the draft.

It's whatever though. I'm not saying the guy isn't valuable. Hell, I won't even say Odom isn't valuable, but I would almost guarantee he's not going to be anywhere near as valuable once he starts playing in NO and stops giving a ****.

Back to the trade itself, New Orleans really couldn't have gotten rid of Ariza or Okafor's garbage-*** contracts? That would at least make this deal a little more passable.
I don't know about the other 2 or 3 Laker fans who comment on here, but I never wanted Gasol out or called him soft...he just had a bad series. No reason to trade him.

That is true LA has more talent but that doesn't mean the Hornets don't have depth.

Can LAL sign Duhwight for anything close to the max assuming Fisher and Peace pick up their player options? Looking at it quickly it doesn't look like it.
