I highly doubt your interest will be 100% dead, I'm guessing more like 76%
LOL. I'm so tempted to use the search function and find previous posts from people who claim that if X trade happens they are done with the NBA. A ton of people said that when the Miami team was put together. The Lakers could get Howard/Paul/Griffin and Jordan in his prime and you would all keep watching.Last edited by Boltman; 12-08-2011, 08:52 PM.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
When has he really ever been able to work off the ball over the last 3-4 years? Legitimately, in a scheme? The Lakers no longer have to bank on Kobe isoing or dribbling it around. Kobe will be able to get to his sweet spots freely. Kobe is a great mid range shooter, give him an open shot off a screen and it drains. And I love CP3 dropping it down low to Kobe personally.
Lakers priority at this point has to be fixing the 4.
I'm not saying that they are completely incompatible, what I am saying is that Bryant+Gasol>>>>>>Bryant+Paul.
However, add in Dwight and the equation changes. But without Dwight, Lakers are worse off. Especially when you realize how versatile and crucial Odom was.
As for fixing the 4 spot, okay, how do they do that? They have hardly any depth anymore so their only option is using the MLE for...who? What are their options?Comment

So it appears that Houston is giving up Martin, Scola, Dragic, and a 1st Round Pick for Pau Gasol. That seems like a lot to give up. From the looks of their roster (I know it can change a lot in the next few weeks) I don't think that they're any better than a 7th or 8th seed either. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Bynum and a bag of basketballs?
I really don't see anyone else on the Laker roster worth trading for.Comment

Lakers finally got CP3...but now they are lacking size especially with a hole at the 4 position. I wonder who they will go after now..."The more you sweat in practice , the less you bleed in battle."

I can't wait for the inevitable influx of users that join here with Lakers avatars and a join date of Dec 2011 who all sound like DJ Khaled.

depending on how things shape up between them and Dallas during the regular season matchups...
They could go after Kenyon Martin.....now i'm not saying Martin can stop Dirk but he's probably the best Dirk defender on the open market right now

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
It was mainly a joke, but I just find it funny that at the end of the Lakers' playoff run last year, all their fans were crucifying the guy, calling him a bitch and soft and whatnot, but now he's suddenly got a 5-star trade value again.
It's whatever though. I'm not saying the guy isn't valuable. Hell, I won't even say Odom isn't valuable, but I would almost guarantee he's not going to be anywhere near as valuable once he starts playing in NO and stops giving a ****.
Back to the trade itself, New Orleans really couldn't have gotten rid of Ariza or Okafor's garbage-*** contracts? That would at least make this deal a little more passable.
That is true LA has more talent but that doesn't mean the Hornets don't have depth.Comment

I'm too lazy to go through the details so someone do it for me...
Can LAL sign Duhwight for anything close to the max assuming Fisher and Peace pick up their player options? Looking at it quickly it doesn't look like it."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
