^^^LMFAO!!^^^
Isn't it funny the reason they blocked the trade? "For basketball Reason"Last edited by jeebs9; 12-09-2011, 11:03 AM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Cp3s contract will raise with the extension (that he's definitely never even listening to NO about now). Pau is one of the most skilled (if not most skilled) big men in the league. If Chandler and Nene are fetching 13.5 year 1 of their contracts, I'd say Pau is definitely worth every penny. And the funnier part is Houston was taking Pau, not the "owners", so his contract doesn't really figure into this. LOs contract is amazing. 8.9 this year, 8.2 next year? What a freaking steal

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
link to ah article a couple of pages back proved this sentiment to be false. A day before draft Hornets were contacted by LA about trading the pick for Divac and they weren't even told who to get until 5 minutes before their pick.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I have some sympathy for Cleveland. They did all they could (short of trading for Amare) to keep Lebron. But Bucks fans? Why should I have sympathy for a team that traded Dirk (and you know Dirk is the sort of player who would have stayed in Wis. his entire career) and has bad luck with injuries (Redd, Bogut).
I think the prejudice is bull****. I'm a Laker fan but I have Wizards season tickets and I'm not bitter about bigger markets getting superstars. Why? Because if the Wizards front office did a better job with drafting and FA, they would be able to keep its players and more FA would be wiling to come to the team. Thats not the fault of the big markets. Its the team's fault. Same with the Bucks.
People don't want to come to the Bucks because they aren't contenders and they aren't contenders because they have bad luck and make bad personnel decisions. Not because the Lakers or the Heat sign better FA.
I didn't like the way the 3 superstars got together last year, but the CBA allowed for that.
I agree with your reasoning that people don't want to come to the Bucks, but I think you are leaving out a few. People just don't like Milwaukee, either. A lot of FA's that come in during the off-season feel the weather is too cold. Remember, Kareem forced a trade out of here because he didn't like the social atmosphere.
So, there are basketball reasons(BC being a dump, lousy trades, lousy draft choices), but there are also locations reasons why we don't attract players.Comment

If the NBA ruins the Hornets as a Franchise by not allowing him to be traded before the deadline then I will honestly never watch another NBA game again.
Granted not sure how much that'd ruin the Franchise seeing we'd suck really really bad next year, we'd just have draft a stud. You looking at the Chair MAN!
Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.Comment

Also yall won't be happy until Paul walks away for nothing and no one buys the Hornets. Perfect way to contract NO. Then it'll be "league should have traded Paul for highest value available now what we're losing a team " #basketballreasons

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I've already said that I'm against the trade as was constituted, but the 8.9 million trade exception, that I didn't realize was part of the deal, would have made the trade much more palatable for the Lakers, as they would definitely have been able to fill that void at the 4 with that money.
Sadly, we'll never be able to prove it, but the league is flat out being intellectually dishonest when it says that the 15 million in additional salary being take on by the Hornets was the deal breaker. Substitute Toronto or Milwaukee, or any other small market team in for Los Angeles, and no one would have said a peep about the 15 mil. They would have gladly absorbed that cost in exchange for being able to celebrate a victory by a small market team over the NBA's version of The Evil Empire. This was just about stopping the Lakers.
Here in the real world we know that Paul and Howard have to get paid, but if this were a movie, they would eschew the seven, eight figure deal, give the middle finger to the league, and sign with the Lakers next year for "peanuts".

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Change of topic. Anybody else see Broussard's latest? Apparently he's reporting that Brandon Roy is about to retire due to his knee.Comment
