Yes, Odom and Bynum were either inconsistent or injury prone, but they still combined with Gasol to create a tremendous frontcourt.

Bro, Bynum was nothing more than a crippled role player for both of their title runs. He was a gimp who was basically playing on one leg for both runs.

I'm glad someone admits LO Bynum and Gasol have value.

Also, I'm not defending him. I'm defending his reasoning.

This could've been much worse. At least he's not on a team, and then becomes a cancer. Then a team would be stuck with 14 mil on their books and an unhappy player.
I understand that. But he's in the NBA and this is the reality of his situation.

He knows that - this isn't something new - players have always been used as commodities if they are not franchise players.

Come on now, we know that ain't happening and we both know why regardless of who's already there.
If the food is ACTUALLY better at the carry out wouldn't you eat there? The Lakers name goes a long way but would you sign with them if the only talent they had was an aging Kobe and Odom?

Also Odom may not even be on the team next season.

I agree. From a basketball talent standpoint running the point, flanked by Gordon and Butler, lobbing it up to Blake, sounds better than what the Lakers could potentially be left with in the dimming of Kobes career.

Also, I'm not defending him. I'm defending his reasoning.

This could've been much worse. At least he's not on a team, and then becomes a cancer. Then a team would be stuck with 14 mil on their books and an unhappy player.
Jeopardize his family time/life and personal life? Really???

no it's not do you really believe Gasol can lead a franchise like Dirk as one star by himself?

If Gasol was on Dirk's level i wouldn't call him overrated....but there is a fake beliefe that Paul Gasol is eqaul or better than Dirk Nowitzki

He's never been on Dirk's level not in LA and not in Memphis by himself....he's never done what Dirk has done for years as the lone ranger in Dallas.

It wasn't until he showed up in LA that people started overating him....he's the same Gasol that he was in Memphis accept in LA he sandwiched between Kobe, Bynum and Odom.

I gurantee you Rockets fans will want him gone by mid season

I never said Pau was on Dirk's level. Dirk is a great player, and has been for years. But to call Gasol overrated is crazy talk.

Also Odom may not even be on the team next season.
NO because it's not possible for their food to be better

I love Chicken Wings and Mambo Sauce as much as any person in DC, but I'll be damned if I'mma say it's better than Ruth Chris

I understand Laker Fans want to actually think there's a strong chance that a SUPERSTAR(god forbid) would leave them for the Clippers of all teams, but come on now. Logically, it wouldn't even make sense.

Yeah, I'm going to go from a team who has shown that it can add better players on the fly and not have to rebuild every year and has proven it can add other superstars to go play for this guy:

Aholbert, you think Mitch has been on the horn seeing where can potentially spin Bynum to break down into some solid pieces (if Bynum is on the block for D12 then Bynum is on the block period.). Maybe a team like Minnesota with alot of pieces to balance the roster could do well if we do indeed lose all of our depth up front. Obviously D12 is still the primary focus but Mitch has to be working a plan b

Can you be inconsistent and injury prone and still be one of the best?
Yes, because size, and Kobe Bryant, can compensate for both. Lamar even is his 30's is highly skilled, but he's dumb as a rock, while Bynum was still a solid space eater.
