Just my 2 cents though! Btw, nobody's been talking about Josh Smith... before the lockout everyone was talking about him being traded to the Magic
It's "beyond you" as to why someone would want to sign up for the Nets? What, is Deron Williams, a multi-billionaire owner, Jay-Z involvement, a new city and new arena not enough to understand?

...... In other news, the Stern veto jokes are already reallllllllllly stupid and played.

I've absolutely never doubted the Nets are involved, and that Dwight likely wouldn't mind going there to rock the rims with Deron. This doesn't come as news, merely confirmation of what we already knew. Instead of "sources" it's coming from a legitimate mouth. That's the difference here.

Still plenty of unknowns, I wouldn't bank on anything with Dwight just yet. And at the end of the day, Dwight has no say in this. Still entirely up to the ORL front office. Guess we'll see what they value.
Not to be offensive, but I've come to the conclusion that you're hearing/reading what you want to instead of reading what I'm saying.

I NEVER said LA was a small market. But if Dwight wanted SOOOO badly to be a Laker, why not come out and say it? He obviously has no problem saying he wants to be a Net, and the Lakers probably have more to give to the Magic.

And plus, you don't think it would be hard to market Adidas in a city that would have two players under the Nike umbrella? (Jordan is part of Nike)

Also, I pretty much look as it as confirmation when you request to go to a team 2-3 times. The most recent is after his agent talked to the Lakers, Mavs, and Nets. I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers told Dwight that CP3 was their top priority, especially if they were looking for a 1st round pick from another team to send to NO.

And you say Dwight has no say in this? It's either trade him and get something, or the Magic let a star go AGAIN and get nothing in return. If they dont trade Dwight, this could set them back for years, unless they tank and manage to grab an Austin Rivers or Harrison Barnes.

Here is confirmation for Laker fans in denial:

Dwight Howard is willing to sign a 5-year, $109M extension with the Nets.

Of course, the possibility still remains that he could go to LA, but he clearly prefers the Nets over the Lakers at this point. If the Lakers would've been pursuing him as their top priority, then I could see him going to LA.

I'm a laker fan, I never even expected dwight as a Laker. I wish they would reveal the revised trade. Its all speculation at this point.

I think he just wants to be his own guy. Going from Orlando to LA will remind people of a certain someone, no matter what. And this is a guy already "somewhat" linked to him because of the whole "superman" thing.

but IMO it's really not about what Dallas has on their roster but rather what can dallas do to entice a 3rd team such as Atlanta to help make a trade happen.

It's a long shot but if i remember correctly Cuban said he'd trade for Dwight Howard even if Howard didn't agree to a long term deal.

So really Dallas can easily get a 3rd team involved to get Orlando a nice young player + several 1st round picks and the Mavs own that $12 Million TE from New York freeing them up to take on Hedo's contracts which is something i don't think New Jersey or LA can do right now as we speak.

I doubt Howard would have a problem playing with Dirk even if it's just for one season because he can win a ring right now this year in Dallas if that is truly what he wants

Not in denial. This isn't anything but confirmation of things we've already concluded here in the forums. We all knew and know it's very possible he'd sign that deal.

Up to the Nets to decide what they will give up.

Up to the Magic to decide what they want.

Up to the Lakers to bow out of the CP3 deal, shattering the best package available for NO and already having a back door deal for Dwight negotiated. Then the league can explain why they can trade Paul somewhere else after this whole fiasco. CP3 forcing his way into free agency on the leagues "guidance"

I agree, that's why I said team to team. It's next to impossible to predict 3rd team interventions. Never thought McHale would help the Lakers.
