Otis Smith can say hey we are not trading you to New Jersey we want to get you out of the East....and we are not helping the Lakers again

Dwight can't refuse the trade all he can say is i'm not resigning with the team i get traded to if it's not New Jersey.....

well guess what do you think a guy like Cuban cares if Dwight refuses to sign an extension?

Cuban has said he'll trade for Dwight regardless and then i believe the Mavs would get a 3rd team to facilitate the deal and get Orlando young talent and drafts picks. Orlando doesn't care if Dwight refuses to not sign long term with Dallas

and remember Deron Williams is from dallas so that would be Cuban's sale pitch to Dwight long term

Not doing the best possible thing for your club, if you believe it is an offer from the Lakers, and not taking it because "I'm not trading with the Lakers" is the worst reasoning I have ever heard in my life. I'm sorry but I'd be pissed if my front office worked that way personally.

Here's to hoping that Dwight signs with the Nets, the Celtics swoop in at the last moment to get Paul and the Lakers are left with players who have hurt feeling and in spin control. That's what I want to see.

Highly possible outcome, no doubt. I have supreme faith in Mitch Kupchak though.

He's a FA after this season. It's the same thing as the Melo situation cept there isn't the unknown of the CBA looming over Duhwight's head.

Otis Smith can't say "we're getting you out of the East and not helping the Lakers" AND end up with the best deal possible. It's just not going to happen. Dallas doesn't have the cap space to trade for Duhwight and then sign Deron.

yeah but assuming the Lakers will have the best possible deal for Orlando...

That is why i said if Dallas has a 3rd team involved who's to say that deal is better than LA's deal?

your going on the beliefe that LA will have the best deal and i'm not sure they will after all the dust settles.....

also why does everyone assume that Orlando is really high on Bynum?

The trade between the Lakers, Hornets and Rockets has been resubmitted to the league. No official word on specific changes as of yet.

Dwight requested to be traded to the Nets and said that he would sign an extension with them.

The main pieces would be Brook and 2 1st-rounders would go to Orlando, and Dwight and Turk would go to the Nets. There will be some lesser pieces in the deal, most likely the Nets giving Orlando some young players. Maybe MarShon Brooks, Anthony Morrow, or Damion James?

Deron Williams never said he's leaving NJ/Brooklyn. He's just not signing an extension, because he'd get more money technically becoming a free agent.

None of us know what has been going on behind the scenes of course, but I definitely agree with the sentiment that Dwight should have been the top priority for the Lakers. Maybe he was, but a deal that both teams could be happy with just didn't materialize.

If he's not here on my squad, then I'm totally down with Dwight in New Jersey. He wouldn't be in the Western Conference, and as long as he isn't on Boston or Miami, and is instead, on a team that is going to be a major thorn in the side of those clubs, then all is well.

Let Boston, Miami, New York, New Jersey, and Chicago pound the hell out each other every year, and hopefully the Lakers can have an easier go of it trying to get through the West.

It's actually the opposite. Majority here feel the NJ package is vastly superior, especially with Odom seemingly off the board. I still don't know. A healthy Bynum is vastly superior to Brook Lopez in my opinion, Bynum is twice the rebounder and will be a force. The catch is the health, that's the risk. I dont think it's even remotely close barring health.

I think the Nets package is very good. Ultimately it's up to Otis Smith.

You don't want to build around either but if I'm ORL it's a no brainer - I take the Nets package due to picks and Lopez's salary being a quarter of Bynum's.
