BOSTON -- There has been a lot of talk about retiring numbers since Jason Terry and Jason Kidd left Dallas this summer.Another former Mavs guard should see his number raised to the American Airlines Center rafters soon.

Mavs are gonna retire Derek Harper's number 12. Well deserved in my opinion, especially considering his attachment to the organization now.

Severely off topic, but free throw line dunk in game.

This dunk made its way from Jacksonville, Texas, to Sportcenter's No. 1 top play for good reason: It's just as insane a play as it is mind-boggling a bad call.

Two Bulls fans were shot in Philly after the game. It's just so stupid and senseless.

Two Chicago Bulls fans were shot after an argument with two other passengers on a train in Philadelphia following their team's 96-89 victory over the 76ers on Wednesday night, police said.

The shooting happened at 10:39 p.m. at 4600 Market Street when a 36-year-old man and a 30-year-old man got into an argument about the teams with two males, described as 16 to 19 years old, according to Officer Jillian Russell.

The 36-year-old man was shot in the stomach by one of the teens, and the bullet went through his stomach and struck the 30-year-old man in the thigh, according to Russell. The two teens then fled the train.

The shooting victims are in stable condition at an area hospital, according to Russell, who said no suspects are in custody.

It is uncertain whether the Bulls fans were in attendance for the game at the Wells Fargo Center.

                      Fuggetaboutit

Phil Jackson and the Los Angeles Lakers almost became one and the same for the third time this season, but "almost" doesn't count. Nor do the Lakers count as a viable contender.

Not in Jackson's eyes, at least.

After being spurned by Los Angeles in favor of Mike D'Antoni, much has been made of the deteriorating relationship—if one even still exists—between the organization and the heralded coach.

Well, any doubt that Jackson felt slighted by the Lakers, as well as any hope of him ever returning to coach those who don purple and gold, has effectively been put to bed. By Jackson himself, in fact.

During a nice outside stroll with longtime girlfriend Jeanie Buss, the 11-time coaching champion provided some brief insight to TMZ Sports as to what he thought of the Lakers:Phil Jackson says he doesn't want to return to the Lakers organization...even if they ask him...and to make things worse, Phil told TMZ he doesn't think the squad is championship material either.

Phil and his GF Jeanie Buss were out on a dinner date at Gjelina in Venice, CA last night...when we asked the Zen Master if he would be open to rejoining the team if things didn't work out with the Lakers current head coach Mike D'Antoni.

But Jackson has made it clear the door is closed...and when we asked if he thought the Lake Show still had a shot at an NBA title this year, Jackson was brutally honest."Brutally honest" doesn't even begin to describe Jackson's laconic sentiments.

Though he noted that the Lakers would turn things around under D'Antoni, he dispelled the notion that the team was a title contender. He also responded "no" when asked if he would ever return to coach the organization.Does this mean anything for the Lakers?

Anyway, that's smart Phill. Better stay away probably.

Phil need to shut his *** up cause he know damn well when this thing is done blowing up in their faces that if they roll the dump truck of cash that he was looking for and some added decision making powers to the pot he'd have his lanky behind right back in his high chair courtside. Same dude wrote a book about uncoachable Kobe Bryant and then went back to coaching him talking about the door being closed. Get outta here with that noise Phil.
