Hey guys for a fun sports logo website try: sportslogos.net

I literally spent hours on there, pretty cool.

They even have rugby team logos. It was kinda cool to look back at some old school logos I remember as a kid.

Don't spoil this thread by posting OKC logos. Makes me want to puke.

        Per Mitch Levy...

-$485m arena that will take 3 years for permits and construction.
-Deal is to house both NBA and NHL
        -All land is acquired
-Arena construction will not begin until NBA team is assured to come to Seattle.
-Deal between Seattle and Chris Hanson is very near and will be publicized soon. Soon probably means roughly a week as they must beat the Maloofs official relocation bid.
-Arena deal is not dependant on the Kings leaving Sac or Coyotes leaving Phoenix.
-Both teams would play at Key Arena until new arena is ready.
-Behind closed doors, David Stern has guaranteed Seattle a team if they get the arena.

It would be pretty nostalgic to see them play at Key Arena again, even if only for one year.

If Stern has privately guaranteed them a team, seems NO is the most logical thing he has in mind. Also applies pressure on Sac to get their arena going. Two birds one stone?

                Also just catching on Twitter.

BREAKING: Source tells me press conference scheduled at #Seattle City Hall to announce deal on new sports arena complex...

Arena News Conference scheduled for tomorrow. I'm told Hedge Fund/Land Owner Chris Hansen is in town. He met with council members. #NBA #NHL

This would be unprecedented for Seattle. We're potentially talking a BILLION dollar deal, with an arena, and two teams. #nba #nhl

Cautiously optimistic at this point, but DAMN this could be huge. Please let this guy Hansen come through! He would be worshipped here if he makes this all happen

So excited that the Sonics are coming back...now I can actually get behind a team again.

The NHL will be a nightmare for KeyArena though and they're almost guaranteed to lose money the first few years. I think it seats around 11,000 for hockey and IIRC only 6,000 are unobstructed views.

I just got goosebumps thinking about the first game back in Key Arena.

                        Re: Supersonics coming back?!

Mitch Levy is a tweetin fool tonight.

Lots of you are asking: Ballpark figures -- $280M from private money, appr $200M from the taxes generated by the building if it is built
Only Madison Square Garden remodel and The Staples Center would have more private money invested in them than the new Seattle Sports Complex
ZERO cost to the taxpayer. I repeat ZERO cost to the taxpayer.

How could the city council reject this?! You've got to think we just took one major step closer to getting the Sonics back to Seattle, WITHOUT Robert Swift or Johan Petro on the roster.

Please, please let this happen. Bulls fan, but I would love to see the Sonics back in the Association. The league is better with a team in Seattle.

I know, it's been soooo hard to get behind any teams since the Sonics left. I really want a favorite team, and I'll be very excited to have the Kings or hornets up here, even if they aren't the "Sonics."

I can't even follow the league anymore. I can only watch follow Jeremy Lin games now since I've been pulling for him since college, and of course checking on how former Huskies have been doing. We need a damn team back!

If the proposal really is like what Levy is saying it is, I don't see how they can possibly reject this

                                Seattle Times

The $500 million arena would be paid for mostly by a private investment group led by Seattle native Christopher Hansen, but includes city and county financing that would be repaid over the next 30 years through rent on the arena and tax revenue it generates, including property, sales and admissions taxes.
The proposal includes no new taxes, and the city and county wouldn't pay anything until the teams were secured. Construction would take about two years.
