I will personally drive to anyone's home that wants to vote against this proposal, and punch them in the face. I'm already seeing a bunch of people on the Seattle Times comments section saying "See? They're using public funds! I'm against it!" And of course, nobody reads the fact that it's using taxes that would not exist if not for the arena. So many stupid people.

I wish I actually lived in Seattle so I'd have a vote on this. Unfortunately, I live outside the city, so I have to just hope people in Seattle don't F this up.I will personally drive to anyone's home that wants to vote against this proposal, and punch them in the face. That is A LOT to ask for. I'm praying that the idiots actually read and figure out the actual proposal before blindly voting against it because they're anti-sports.Comment

Doubt the Hornets would go, since they're looking for an Owner to KEEP the team in NO.#RespectTheCultureComment

Their headline doesn't help at all. Saying the city/county are going to finance the $500m arena is just trying to rile up the 'Occupy' types of Seattle. Pretty wreckless by the Times.I will personally drive to anyone's home that wants to vote against this proposal, and punch them in the face. If you read the details, this deal is a no brainer for Seattle and King County. They have almost zero risk!!!
They've now fixed it.

Re: Supersonics coming back?!
Yeah and rumor is a new owner/lease agreement is supposed to be announced in the coming weeks.
2/3 of the potential owners i've seen mentioned would keep them in NO, not sure on the other but i'm sure they would as well given Stern's approach.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

With an NBA and NHL team being required to be Seattle bound before construction begins, they've got to already have both teams lined up.
No way you have this dog and pony show without them. I can't imagine the timing of Bettman's public comment about the desirability of Seattle being pure coincidence.
And Sactown requiring $80m from the Maloofs makes me feel bad for the Kings fans.

The Maloofs are terribly in debt, aren't they? How can the city expect them to fork over $80M?With an NBA and NHL team being required to be Seattle bound before construction begins, they've got to already have both teams lined up.

I've seen estimates around $200m just associated with the Kings, with well over half being owed back to the NBA. Who else are they going borrow money from?
Also, Hanson has been invited to the owners meeting in April.
