But Charlotte is one of the fastest growing areas in the nation if I understand correctly.
Bobcats win 35th game. Some really weird news in the NBA. A betting scandal is revealed! But... that is not the strangest news!

Sacramento, Kings appear to have deal worked out to keep team

Kinda bummed out now that it doesn't look like there's going to be any team available soon. Feels like we were pretty much just used as leverage. But on the other hand, I'm glad that Sacramento got to keep their team. Nice to see politicians that are able to get it done to keep a sports team from moving. Happy for the Kings fans.

If the Kings had left Sacramento, they'd have gone to Seattle, not Anaheim. The NBA doesn't want a third team in the LA market. As soon as another viable market came into play (and a top 15 market at that), Anaheim's chances of getting an NBA team were doomed.

I do hope Seattle gets a team though, that city deserves it.
Last year. When there wasn't really another option. The biggest reason they stayed in Sacramento for another year is that the NBA didn't want another team in the LA area, and were hoping that either a.) Sacramento would work out a deal, or b.) another market would step up so the team didn't have to move to Anaheim. As soon as Seattle started working on an arena deal, Anaheim's chances were shot. Even if the team isn't for sale, the league needs to approve the relocation of a team. There's no way the league would approve of a move to Anaheim when Seattle is there as a destination.
