If he was rotting in the dleague then I guess he was also rotting at Harvard.

            Rotting in the D-League?

Are you about that now or are we just looking for a way to say I'm wrong in what I'm saying?

Getting caught up in the moment and enjoying it =/= anointing him

In fact, I'd say the large majority of people realize that he probably can't keep up this pace (the sheer physical wear and tear on a guy who hasn't ever played these kind of minutes will probably get to him).

And I'd wager those who do make outrageous comparisons do it largely in jest, because they're having fun with it. Oh no, how terrible!!1!1!!1!11!!11!!1!

If you number 15 on a roster you hardly eating like he is now. Nobody plans to be the next big D League star.. Every minute he spent down there was a minute he could have been in the association.

Not saying he the scrub of scrubs but I am saying for sure you don't see folk come up and make an impact fresh out the D like this and say its happens all the time in the game. Maybe a post player but not a point.

Well judging by what little I've seen in this thread, and people in the NBA 2K forum talking bout him being an 80 ovr LMAO. Yea he's getting annointed.

I gotta be honest... there is nothing about Lin that resembles Rose's game that I've seen. That's not a shot at anybody, but that was bothering me. Even his body control does not scream Rose the slightest to me. Sorry to dig that back up, but it really bothered me. All I see in Lin, no comparisons.

For the 100th time, I said he was balling right NOW and said the best comparison I'd make for him now is Goran Dragic(and people got on me because I made that comparison ). Or is being compared to him some sort of slight towards him now? Last time I checked, Dragic isn't a bum or some slouch and he's actually been pretty solid.

But again, we have seen PLENTY of players throughout the HISTORY of the NBA come from out nowhere, never to be heard of outside of Message Boards, have a nice little hot streak of games and then we don't hear much from them again aka 15 minutes of fame. Am I wrong on this one? This is not the first time nor is it the last time that something like will happen in the NBA, which was all I was trying to say.

Again, he's balling right now and he is doing his thing. What more do people want me to say or am I still not giving him enough credit? Serious LOL.
What has ever happened in this league that's been this random? Serious question, because I can't think of anything that's remotely like this.

I'm all for the hype, but their is some people going overboard with it. I hate comparisons though. BTW "that annoint statement" wasn't aimed at you.

I've already said that he's been balling his *** off lately. Won't deny that he isn't killing right now. Don't know how many different ways I can say this LOL.

BUT, I'm also not naive to the fact that he's getting all this hype because he plays in NY(where everything gets magnified x100 compared to smaller markets)and because he's Asian American. Not going to ignore like it's NOT a reason when it is, whether you want to believe it or not.
I don't agree with the point you are trying to make. Take Tebow for instance he was getting all that hype while playing in Denver and let's face it Denver isn't NYC, LA or Chicago when it comes to the media spotlight but he got it anyways because he was an underdog that led his team to victories.

The point I am trying to make is....like Tebow, Jeremy Lin came out of nowhere and carried his teams to wins when the team wasn't doing good and that alone will get attention especially from a no namer. The only difference between Tim & Jeremy is Jeremy Lin is putting up numbers while Tebow played his heart out but but his stats weren't great. What makes Lin's story even more amazing than Tebow is he was an unknown guy who led his teams to victories. Tebow on the other hand was known throughout his college career and won the heisman so people knew about him.

The main point I am trying to make is America loves the "underdog story" even if Jeremy Lin was playing in Millwaukee or any small market team he will still get the attention. It's true playing in NY just magnifies everything even more but I still feel he will be a hot topic on ESPN, TNT, NBA.COM, ect.
