    Re: Jeremy Lin

OK so the Lakers come into town. A better team than the previous 3. More defensive and Kobe and guess what many felt he would not fair to well in this game, and the true Lin will show.

The Kid drops his career high 38pts.

Its time to give this kid his props.

Tebow came out of nowhere They've been calling for him to start since day one lol

At this point the best comparison is Susan Boyle because we treat under dogs like new zoo animals nowadays..

      No offense to Ms Boyle.

Oh, I know it wasn't lol. I'm just saying, I don't know what people are anointing him.

Yeah, guys are going overboard, but at the same time, the dude has fundamentals that most good players have. That's why I don't think he'll flame out. He'll come back to earth, but that should be expected. But, he'll still have the green light in D'Antoni's offense, and we should see less of Toney Douglas, Mike Bibby, etc. Plus, now the Knicks can slide Shump over to his true SG position (and hopefully 2K will update that PLEASE).

But I personally think he can become a good player. Maybe not an all-star, but a Kyle-Lowry type of player stat-wise.

Nah, Lowry is a pass first PG, Lin is a scorer.

          18ppg 3-4rpg and 5-8apg is more accurate.

          Imo

Lowry could be a legit 10 apg guy, thats not Lin's game.

            Two reasons

            1. Jeremy Lin is leading his team to wins and Kyrie isn't.

            2. Kyrie Irving was a high draft pick and a was well known amongst basketball fans coming out of Duke. Jeremy Lin was not even drafted, been cut by multiple teams and had a short stint in the D-League.

Now you tell me who has a better storyline? It's sort of like a rags to riches story. This country loves hearing about the little guy coming out of nowhere shocking the world. Just watch March Madness every year when a cinderilla team does damage the media won't stop talking about them like Butler the past few years. This isn't nothing new.

              Re: Jeremy Lin

Being a Knicks fan (and some of us have been here for years) I had to throw my hat in the ring. Lin def gets more press and hype being in nyc but to say no one would care and he would get no mention at all is insane.

Next I think the kid is for real....he has very good court vision, can get to the cup and most importantly he's patient when running the pnr. Obviously he's not gonna continue to play at this level esp when STAT & Melo come back but he'll be able to drop those dimes and that's all we need aside from hitting the occasional open shot.

And I think Melo deserves a bit more credit. I think he'll be fine b/c his game is so vast. Of course we'll see Isos still but he can come off some screens, pick & pop or camp out on the wing when Lin runs the pnr w/Chandler/STAT.

For one, MSG chanting MVP MVP! I know it's all in fun, but a little early? I like him, your right, he does have good fundamentals. I'm sure D'antoni is having wet dreams about Lin and Amare running the pnr LMAO. The most important thing is he's willing the Knicks to win after win. And he has that team feeling good, and confident. I'm sure the chemistry is at an all time high right now. It's a good story.

This is not 1995 with twitter YouTube and other social media if a guy was doing what Lin is doing it would have gotten out. Maybe not as fast but this guy was bound to go viral regardless of what market he played in. Same way everybody knew about the Kobe drew league game and that wasn't even televised.

I'm also convinced with Tebow and Lin some people here just don't like guys getting over the top shine. Wish this forum was around when Jordan returned from baseball just to see people say he just on a hot streak.

I can see it now, Stat comes back and the Knicks continue to roll...and then Melo comes back, destroys the chemistry and the fans boo him like crazy. This town could turn on Melo quickly but hopefully they all gel and the Knicks play like the playoff team they should be.

I agree, he's not super athletic, but he seems to understand the game and pick his spots well.

I'm not sold on Melo playing for this team. He just doesn't fit in the system. I still don't think they should of traded for him. For all the jokes I make about him, I like him, he is a hell of a 1 on 1 scorer, but I don't like him on this team.

                        Time will tell though.

LOL Come on dude, we both know that was in fun, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

But yeah I get your point. I wouldn't be mad at Knicks fans being overexcited though because Lin has literally gotten their season back on track.

I'm not upset about it, it just bothers me, like storming the court in College. Just an irk.

The only quality that doesn't make him fit is his tendency to iso. He can still get off in Pringles' system with his skills. And I'd be a damn liar if I said I didn't want Melo last year (but I wouldn't have given up what we did for him). During the LeBron saga I actually (and I know this easy for me to say now b/c you guys don't know me) prefered Melo.

If we can keep him down to a handful of isos a game he can stiil score w/the midrange J and the 3. I have faith in the dude...if I'm wrong so be it.
