Obviously no one could have predicted it.
But to somehow not recognize the skills he did have before he ever stepped on the floor, that he has now shown in the national spotlight, is pretty bad.
I mean this kid was cut twice and was sent to D-league. We're not talking about someone who had a chance before and fell on his face. That means those teams, had made the decision after watching him, that he didn't even warrant a real chance to start, let alone play meaningful minutes in the NBA. After next game, he will have surpassed the amount of minutes he had played in his whole career prior to this season. Seems pretty ridiculous when we here at OS watch him, and can decipher the things he does well and can see that he is a good player, just based on his skills, not even taking into account how he has exploded onto the scene.
I bet the knock on him was his turnover rate (which was a problem in college) shooting form and jumpshot.

Re: Jeremy Lin
Would have been really cool if Jeremy Lin was invited to the Rising Star Challenge. I know he only broke-out recently, but in my opinion, his performance in the past week definitely trumps players such as Evan Turner, Gordan Hayward and Tiago Splitter in what they have achieved over the entire season so far.
At the moment the Most Improved Player award is Lin's to lose. As for MVP, I don't think he will keep this up. His stats would probably drop to around 17ppg & 7ast. However, Lin has so far proved me wrong so I wouldn't be surprise if he is mentioned in the MVP voting come playoff time.Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
Obviously being undrafted and coming out of Harvard then ending up on a nba roster says teams didnt think he didnt have skills. He was just the odd man out. GS was full with guards just like Houston (Dallas should have kept him)

I'm saying these are teams that actually had him on their roster, and still couldn't figure it out. Never heard of a team having a player on their roster and not watching him play and assessing his abilites. The Warriors were loaded with guards, yes, but the Rockets? Don't see how he couldn't get a shot with Flynn and Dragic on the roster, but oh well, it happens.Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
Anybody saying that this isn't Tebow is kidding themselves. This is exactly like Tebow, hype wise.
With that said, I hope he keeps balling.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football

Re: Jeremy Lin
I thought Lin was a good story but didn't really buy too much into it...until last night! Kid is impressive, the way he stood back and directed his teammates then having the confidence to step up and hit that shot. He is something special!Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
Tebow was being hyped for reasons beyond what he was doing on his respective playing field...performance-wise. The people who were pushing him wanted him to be better than he actually was/is.Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
You sub in the Asian American angle for Tebow's good boy image and his faith and voila.Last edited by Jasong7777; 02-15-2012, 10:08 AM.Redskins, Lakers, Orioles, UNC Basketball , and ND Football

Re: Jeremy Lin
Undrafted. Cut multiple times. Knicks were a healthy Baron away from cutting him as well.
He's being hyped because he turned around a 8-15 team, that was HYPED coming into the season. They are 6-0, granted not the toughest schedule, with him; and were without their 2 'best' players in 4 of those games.Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
The Tebow backers wanted him to be good. Better than he actually was.
Lin didn't have a following until he performed at a high level.Comment
