Re: Jeremy Lin
Who do u guys think is better at what they do in the pro level Tebow or Lin?
Numbers alone I have to say Lin. Tebow played with heart but his numbers wasn't impressive. And for those saying Lin is only getting exposure because he plays in NYC how about Tim Tebow? ESPN was hyping him and he plays in Denver which is a mid market city.
The 2 of their careers aren't even comparable so to compare what they're doing is really a waste of time.
People talk so much about turnovers, hype, overrated and all kinds of nonsense when this player wasn't even drafted.
Please keep it in its proper perspective.Comment

There's be unknown players to emerge like this at stretches for good 2 weeks or so and don't get anywhere near the hype this guy is getting IMO
I just hate the Hype and the GOD AWFUL PUNS that come with it.
Also just to be Clear, I hope he continues to play at this level. I just hate the other Garbage."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

Was that a little killer instinct we saw tonight?
I think im gonna go ahead and say the kid is legit. I know there have been guys that get hot for a few games then fall off, but hes fighting through tough shooting spells and still finds a way hit buckets when it matters. Unreal....Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
I'm coming out of the woodwork to proclaim i've gone LINSANE!
This Celtics fan has jumped on the Lin bandwagon full time! As long he's leading the Knicks I can only root for their continued success. What a story.
The dynasty will return

Re: Jeremy Lin
I don't even know what to say anymore...if you wrote a movie screenplay with what's happening now as the plot, no one would believe it. Then he hits that game-winner tonight...it defies explanation. I can't see there being any doubters any more at this point; he's here to stay. And he single-handedly saved Mike D'antoni's job, and returned New York to basketball relevancy. David Stern owes him a big hug...Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
He's doing great, but the first thing I want to see is what happens when they play a team that they've played before, and then the biggest test will be the playoffs. Unknown players in all sports tend to go on hot streaks when there's no "book" on them. For all intents and purposes people have only seen him for 6 games. That's 6 games in a cramped season. Teams simply don't have time to prepare, and it probably wasn't until a game or two ago that he was even at the top of the scouting report.Comment

And if you were in the NBA you would do the exact same thing if you hit your first game-winning shot of your career.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
NBA: Dallas Mavericks
MLB: Texas Rangers
NHL: Dallas Stars
NCAA: Alabama Crimson Tide

Jose Calderon lit him up for half the game. Toronto should have won the game.
I'm just enjoying the winning streak. Lin playing out of his mind is just icing on the cake.

Re: Jeremy Lin
Originally posted by BearClawand just like every player in the league after a game winner he becomes about as thug as you can get. Hands and arms stiff at his side with the skip walk back on defense.
But I'm just enjoying the ride now.
He did set another record too. Most turnovers in the first 6 starts of a career. Lol He definitely has to work on taking care of the ball. 8 TO is not good. He tries to make passes that some times aren't there, some times it works, most times it doesn't.
Kid has some skills for sure. Like I said in the other thread, not an upper echelon PG by any means but he can ball. See him more like a Stephen Curry-esque player.
Yes I compared him to someone, but I needed more than one game to make any assessment. I think he is in the perfect system for his game, but the positive is that he also has some skills of a more traditional PG as well. I think him and Stoudemire are going to fit well together, once they gain that chemistry working off each other in the PnR. Still going to be interesting if Melo can stick to his word of playing off Lin. He still holds the ability the kill this whole Linsanity hype.
I also question the NBA's talent evaluators in these organizations that he had been in. How do you not see that this kid can play? I don't get it.Last edited by 1Rose; 02-14-2012, 11:47 PM.Comment

If the team's staff can't watch TV and prepare for a team, or at LEAST have an idea or understanding of how a player plays, then they need to be fired. That's their job, that's all they really do.
But honestly, why can't we enjoy and savor the moment? When's the last time you can say, "I saw a player go from D-League afterthought to starting for the Knicks, to outscoring Kobe at the Garden, and ascending to stardom (even if it is short-lived)?
I mean, you may say it's 6 games. But how I look at it is, all of this happened in 6 GAMES. Six games ago, people were calling for D'Antoni's head. Six games later, D'Antoni's job has effectively been saved by a former D-Leaguer.Comment
