I don't know if a lot of people will agree with you but you're making a great point about why the NBA and its referees are really trying to protect the players more now than ever.

I've changed my mind on the whole referee case because of this.

That may not be a coincidence. Could be an issue with the construction and technology in Adidas basketball sneakers.

        Bulls - No Rose
        Celtics - No Allen
        Hawks - No Horford
        Magic - No Dwight
        Knicks - No Lin

Looks like Heat, Sixers, Pacers are the only healthy squads in the East, with everyone else missing a starter. I'm rooting for the Celtics but the Pacers could be a sleeper if they get past Heat.

I'm sure he'll be back next season, just probably not until January or February.

Rose has had such a ****ty year. I hope he's done with these injuries. The shortened season didn't do him any favors.

I just thought of the Olympics. That's the second star player and potential starter lost from the Olympic team. Who takes his spot, if anyone? This just sucks.

Hoping Orlando/Indy is more competitive than these first two games were.

Bulls gotta be very cautious with rose. He relies so heavily on athleticism, rushing back from injury could really be bad.

Bittersweet day for me. Great win by Miami, really showing how determined they are to win it all.

Very sad to see Shumpert go down, hope he's ok.

Absolutely sad to see D Rose go down. I know how serious those ACL injuries are, please make a FULL recovery, don't rush it, and get back on the court.

Allen is playing in game one I think, it's just sad as a basketball fan and a bulls fan to see rose go down like that. But it dose make the playoffs more interesting but it's just sad to see both rose and shumpert go down, I hope shump is ok.

Doubt he would've played with the season he had....

So ACL....6 to 7 months recovery right? Most say a year to really get "normal".....that's why I was wondering about next year...

I love my country, but if I were an NBA player I would have to be well compensated for playing in the Olympics this year.
