    Re: WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

Nice to see the predictable conference finals matchup come to reality.

After watching the first two rounds, it'd be easy to switch my initial pick from OKC to SA, but OKC has showed me something with maintaining their composure in crunch time against two damn solid teams in Dallas and LA. Hopefully Scott Brooks finally gets some damn credit but he probably won't. Oh well.

Not taking anything away from SA and who they were matched up with earlier, but OKC proved to me that they may be riper than people think. SA did what they were expected to do and dismantled undermanned Utah and LAC teams.. but did so in impressive fashion. When healthy they look to be unbeatable. They too maintained their composure when they got down against the Clippers on multiple occasions. LAC was just so banged up though...

They matchup fairly even across the board and neither team really has a clear advantage in my eyes.

If it goes less than 6 games I'd be shocked, barring injury.

He's not only cut his TO's way down, look at his shooting numbers and shot selection.

Last year in the playoffs he shot 39% and consistently took the stupidest shots that would make Kobe shake his head.

This year he's shooting 47% through the playoffs. It's astounding but not that surprising. It's all about feeling the game out and not forcing the action like he did in all of last year's playoffs.

Westbrook is playing great basketball right now. He needs to keep it up against Tony Parker though.

            Re: WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

This series has a lot of cliches attached to it:
            Team vs Talent
            Old guys vs Young guns
            Oklahoma vs Texas
            Super team vs Balanced team
...but in the end it's just Thunder vs Spurs.
This is a tough one to pick out because although the Spurs is playing the best ball right now, you cannot ignore the firepower the Thunder has on their team. I'm gonna go with the Thunder in 7.

Honestly I think his shot selection isn't really much different than what it was last year except that his shot is falling in. That same pullup jumper that he was bricking like crazy last year, which drove some people crazy is falling in now.

And to think people actually said they should trade him or let him walk and start Eric Maynor instead of signing him.

I remember him taking a million contested shots though last playoff run and always going at the same speed, which was 100 MPH.

This time around he's definitely picking and choosing when he wants to be ultra-aggressive as opposed to being ultra-aggressive 24/7 like last year's post season. He isn't just barreling into defenders, driving right into a set defense or launching/chucking. He did all three of those last year around this time of the year.

Westbrook had to go through that to learn. Pack was right though, I remember people saying Maynor should just play instead. Lol.

My heart says Thunder in 6, my head says Spurs in 6, and for ****s and giggles, my coworker says Spurs in 4.

I dont know about Maynor, but I think people knew what Russ could bring, he just wasnt mentally doing it, he blacked out and just decided to whatever he wanted at many points and it cost them.

There was folks here in Chicago who thought that the Bulls should trade Rose because they were like 19-8 without him in the season. You see how that turned out.

The play of Westbrook is very important if the Thunder is talking about winning the championship this year.
