Anyone thinking Westbrook should have been benched in favor of Maynor or Rose for Westbrook are nothing more than simpleton fans of the NBA.

      Don't say that Alt

I'm about to look back at the threads just for giggles but I'm scared of what I might find and who was saying what exactly

Edit: Here's the western conference finals thread from last year...

Skip Bayless would disagree with you. According to him, James Harden should be OKC's starting point guard

As much as I hate to say this, I dont think that OKC will win four games this series. I Think that the biggest matchup will be Parker and Westbrook, and Westbrook is too inconsistent defensively to slow him down.

              2 reasons:

#2 Even if the Heat/Pacers series finishes in 6 games that series wont be over until Saturday.

As for Westbrook he takes a lot of "no, no, no yes" shots. The shots he's taking this year aren't really any different from before. They're just falling more now. First of all I'd like to see him never shoot a 3 again unless there's < 4 seconds on the clock. Also how hard is it to get a face up jumper from 15-18 feet? He's a legit star so I understand him taking a lot of these, but he takes a few too many a game when there's like ~16 seconds on the clock and he's the only one that's touched the ball.

The other thing about Westbrook this year compared to last year is that OKC has never been in any real trouble. They've won close games, but they've never been behind in a series. Let's see what happens when the series is tied, or they're down, and he's got the ball. If he goes back into hero mode and his % goes down then has he really improved?

This is what Scooby said about Russell last year

How far they go (Thunder) depends on Westbrook's maturation. His shot selection, how he takes care of the rock, getting teammates in the right spots will play a huge role in the success/failure of the Thunder. I am really impressed by this group though. With Presti behind the scenes, this team is only gonna get better, which is crazy

The Grizz Thunder thread was better though

I'm taking the Spurs in 6.

I have to take my hat off to Westbrook though. Not because he's hitting shots so much as he's making smart plays. The ball is actually moving(a little bit). I think OKC loses because they are too one dimensional. The Spurs will force them to be good at the things they are the weakest at doing.

I'll go out on a limb and say Thunder in 4 or 5. For some reason I don't see San Antonio continuing to play amazing basketball against this Thunder team. Mainly because nothing in the NBA ever works out like it seems it should. Spurs look like the best team in the NBA but how long will that last? Surely they aren't going to run to the finals and then win the finals, that would be crazy because like I said, nothing ever works out like it should in the NBA. Thunder in 5.

Spurs in 7 with a Matt bonner game winning 3 to end it.

Spurs in 7, KD will single handedly win 2 games for them since he's got 4 inches on every Spurs small forward. But OKC has no bench outside of Harden, so advantage SA.

Also, Matt Bonner on the perimeter takes Ibaka out of the paint = less rebounds for him = more offensive rebound opportunities for Duncan/Splitter.
