When the Heat lose, people spend too much time talking about them and what THEY didn't do(which is what I think ex meant when he said other fans) and when the Heat win, then people spend too much time talking about what the other team didn't do. And if the Heat win the series, then people(aside from the few Heat Fans and large # of Lebron Fans)will be talking about what the Thunder should've done.

    It is what it is.

But let's talk about the game: I hated OKC's last possession because they rushed for no damn reason when they could've just held the ball for the final shot.

Man all people do is bash LeBron when the Heat lose about what he did or didn't do in the closing seconds

Thats the point, he showed up but even that has ceased due to something Durants not even whining about

Anyhow, I haven't read every post, just found myself skipping over more than I was reading at some point

Something that rarely gets mentioned is how OKC is constantly coming back from deficits. They have also played in a ton of close games this post season...

I don't know if that's the mark of a good team or bad team or what that says overall... but they seem like they're always coming back... started in the first round all the way through to the finals. What I do know is that Durant can take it up to another level though.. sheesh

A lead was never safe....but they constantly were in holes

They need to stop getting down like that, thats never a good thing

What they do though is sustain the same amount of energy throughout a game, so at any moment they can go on a run on you... thats pretty scary

...but if you want to win in the finals you're going to have to keep those waves under your feet or they'll end up drowning you

You don't live in OKC, you'd think this was LA-Sac all over again with these people.

Nah. Its better for them to try to get two possessions by going for a quick score than save it for the last shot.

Thunder were down two. If they get a quick bucket they'd tie the game or take a one point lead on the Heat and it puts the pressure on the Heat. But theres no guarantee that they will make the shot. So if they do miss, they still get a crack at another shot if the Heat miss a free throw. So thats two opportunities for them.

If they wait for the last shot, they are banking on just that single opportunity. If they miss, its game over.

If its a tie game, you always take the last shot. If you're down no matter how many points, you try to get a quick, quality shot and try to save yourself time for a second opportunity if need be.

But I do agree that it was rushed, and was a bad shot. To me, its better to look for a quick but QUALITY shot even if it ends up taking more clock. Its better than just trying to get up any ole shot just to get one up to afford yourself an extra opportunity.

So they had the right thing in mind, they just didnt execute it well.

Good post. I just said pretty much this same thing back in the Miami/Boston series. If you're the team trailing by 1, 2 or 3 in the final seconds of the game, I'm much more comfortable with you going for the quick score and then relying on your defense to get a stop as opposed to shrinking your margin for error by holding the ball for the last shot.

I know everyone hates hearing about the officials and 'whining' about fouls, but in this case it makes sense cause it was a good play call by the Thunder. They got KD the ball in a great spot where he forced his man to have to either make a helluva defensive play to stop him or foul him on a shot he hits all the time. He got the foul, but didn't get the call. You gotta live with it now, but it is worth noting what happened as opposed to just lavishing all praise on the Heat for winning to make some sort of quota of not talking about what they did enough.

Right now though, Shane Battier is quietly building himself a case for Finals MVP. Obviously LeBron would get that honor because he has performed beautifully here, but Shane has really stepped up his game when he's looked like something out of Resident Evil for the majority of the year. He was so on point last night that dude actually made a shot or two inside the three point line which...I don't think he's done all playoffs. Also have to give Dwyane Wade credit for finally answering his critics. Miami is going to need him to keep that up for the remainder of the series though. He can't just be satisfied that he shut some people up for a day or two.

I can't believe Miami took game 2 on the road. they seem so confident they can win it all. I hope the thunder prove them wrong.

Damn. You just ruined my day by reminding me there's no game tonight (although I have to wake up early to go golfing with the father tomorrow anyway).

To me, it's better for them to just go ahead and go for the win while looking for a quality shot.

You miss the shot, series is 1-1(which it is now).

You make the shot, you go into OT with all the momentum on your side with how you played in the 4th.

No way the Heat can win 3 games in a row at home.
The 2-3-2 format really favors the team with the better home court advantage.

At some point we're gonna witness this:

Hope is lost. Faith is broken. A fire will rise.

Maybe I didn't pay 100% attention to this game because I don't see what the big fuss about westbrook. He didn't seem anymore gunnish than usual....

Don't get me wrong, he is a gun though.
