Probably the truth. Is Durant selfish? He's averaged less assists per game for his career than Melo, while averaging almost identical shot attempts per game.

For the record, I find neither selfish and find this whole argument pretty amusing.

Assists really have nothing to do with it and Durant actually had more assists than Melo did this past season, Durant is very willing to let someone else dominate the ball or create for his teammates I mean look at Russell Westbrook he actually took more shots than Melo did so what is your point exactly?

You're really going to use Russell Westbrook to try and help your point? Yikes.

What about the shots per game? That doesn't matter either I suppose.

I think all superstars have a high degree of selfishness. It's just Melo doesn't get a pass because of his playoff record. But his playoff record must be because of his selfishness, not quality of teams. He clearly should of forced a trade to a really good team and took the easy way like LBJ. Damn selfish Melo for taking the harder route.

And I still have no idea what Westbrook has to do with Melo at all, but I wasn't being rude to you. But by all means ignore every other point I've made.

It's quite clear you cant have a real discussion anyway, so I'm done with you.

^ Come on y'all, no need to fight

Anyways, I honestly don't think Melo is ready for a ring. He has never really showed me the will to win. In my mind Carmelo isn't at the point where he is trying to win for the team, he's trying to win for himself. He's still trying to prove something to people, but once he gets past that mental phase I have no doubt he'll win a championship.

                  The Knicks stink, so no.

That amare deal is going to pretty much keep their window closed throughout the rest of melo's prime.

I can't see melo gettin through what he would have to in the eastern playoffs to get a ring anytime soon. Maybe he will get one later in career when he transitions to more of a "role" player?

Re: Can Melo Get His Ring Next?

Melo will prove all you guys wrong. I cant wait for this season to begin.

Many of you are looking at the surface and not too deep into his situation.

Melo will be a much better all around player this year.

I saw what I needed to see in beleiving Melo can be that player. This Knick team will surprise many this year.

The sitaution they went through last year was a circus with so many injuries and the change of coaches with hardly no practice. I feel they did damn good job under those circumstances.

Teams that were together for more than a year did better under the same circumstances, and we obviously know why.

This year will be a whole other story. As long as we can keep the injuries down. The Knicks will be a force this year, and Melo will be a major reason why.

He certainly won't get one with the current Knicks team. His best chance to get a championship has probably passed him by in that 2009 Nuggets team that made the WCF. That's as far as I see him going, quite honestly.

I'd say no. I honestly don't think he wants it enough. That coupled with the dynamic of the team I just don't see it. It appears once free agency is over the Nets will have a better chance of winning one than the Knicks.
