Alright, maybe I'm in denial, but if this is really the trade as it looks right now, you can't tell me this is the best offer they can get. They'd be better off giving him to Houston for a crap ton of picks.

They get cap relief, actual talent, and supposedly 4 1st rounders.

I don't see any team capable of topping that offer.

I don't want Dwight to get his wish to go to Brooklyn, but I just want this all to end.

I can't wait until the 11th when all the FAs can sign

I also read on twitter that a lot of players who are expecting MLE type of money aren't getting it bc teams are running out so they have to settle. That's good for the bulls
          Chicago Bulls
          Chicago Bears
          Wisconsin Badgers

They get one NBA starter (who albeit really isn't a player you build a team around) and 4 picks.

The only thing that makes it a good deal, is Brooklyn is the only team willing to make an offer for Dwight, seeing he's crossed every other team off the list and the Magic can't risk losing him empty handed.

Only reason it's the best deal they are going to get.

He also said that steals don't make somebody a great defender. Which is true because some guys gamble in passing lanes too much. Like being able to block shots doesn't mean you are a great defender. Some shot blockers are great shot blockers when providing help defense. But when they have to guard someone on the post they can easily fall for shot fakes, etc. His point was that stats like steals or blocks are not always an indication of a good defender.
That's fine. I was just offended he mentioned Melo in the same sentence as Shumpert. I overreacted, but, without Shumpert they become much worse on defense. Why? Because Shumpert was able to perfectly funnel shots to Chandler while also getting a few steals by picking the opponent's pockets. Melo can't do that.

And they get something like 20 million in cap savings.

Well Dwight made that by himself so I'd hope they'd get at least that much.

Is Brook Lopez getting a max contract? If so, talks should be done.

Danny Green has agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Spurs.

Green was the 46th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft with the Cavaliers.
                        What do you know?

This is the only good news for small markets. The superteams will feature 3 all-nba players, 2 midlevel-ish guys and 8-9 minimum contracts.

There will be a ton of B-level players available to the league ghetto.

Out of everybody on UNC Team, he's the last person I thought would still be in the league by now.

                              Well done, Mr. Green.

lol at how laughably bad the Magic would be next year if that trade happens. You're looking at a lineup of:

                                Nelson/Armon Johnson
                                Redick
                                Turkoglu/James/Harper/Walton
                                Davis/Ayon/Nicholson
                                Lopez/Williams/O'Quinn

They'd have a whole roster of forwards and an awful bench. Turrible.
