And yes...my point was more along the lines of the quality of the games being much better. The 1st round of the playoffs meant much more because it was Best of 5. Much more pressure.

Don't want to take this thread OT though.
My last reply about this because I don't want this thread to get more off-topic. The 2000s had a significantly had a higher % of teams make the Conference Finals and NBA Finals. The % of teams winning championships is about equal between the those two decades. I don't understand what the definition of competitive balance is. The 2000s had a higher percentage of teams and a higher number of teams play for the title of who is the best in their conference and the NBA.

I am just trying to understand what balance means because it sounds like quality of play and competitive balance are being mixed together. I have no problem with anybody preferring 80s or 90s ball to this. I just don't understand the competitive balance argument of it.

Well I mean, what does he bring to the table? Three-point shooting? He shot 24% last year. Rebounding? Only 4 a game. Energy off the bench? He's 32.

Looking at his stats, it seems like the only thing he does well is shoot free throws.

I guess you could argue though that last season was just an anomaly. His other years have been pretty good.

He didn't play last season. His effort was questionable at best when he was out there and his time was sporadic bc the Wizards were trying to play younger guys and, well, were the Wizards. I have no idea what he actually has left but it's closer to Randy Moss going from Oakland to New England than him just stinking it up all last year in a similar situation, if that makes sense.

He was fine until they caught him for taking PEDs then he was traded to Washinton, in which I'd call last year an anomaly, becuause it was just that..

Shard can hit open shots still and he can also post up smaller players same as he always did..defense leaves something to be desired but Miami's system can hide some of that

He's not expected to be the 2nd option, just a complimentary piece. I can almost see him being much more of a player than Mike Miller was this past year
