I'm 6'2" and dunk pretty easy, I can touch the top of the square(well could up until last year) I guess being pretty skinny helps, ive never had a ton of weight to jump with, although when I weigh my most I jump the highest, probably because that's when I'm working out..

I first dunked in 10th grade, at about 5'11" I had to jump off 2 feet and use 2 hands but I could dunk whenever I wanted that way.. First touched the rim in 9th grade off 2 feet couldn't even get close off of 1, now I dunk off either pretty easily still much higher off 2..

Now and since the end of my senior year (after basketball season was over) I've been able to do windmills, 360s, touch the back of my neck, 360 and windmill off a bounce, catch oops 1 or 2 handed.. Only thing I could never do is go between my legs, I've done it with a dodgeball, and even gotten a girls ball up to the rim, but a guys ball I just can't hold on to while trying to move that fast.. Hands aren't big enough..

Favorite thing to do is get tip slams.. Best feeling in the world to run in full speed and get up over all the other rebounders and slam it over their heads lol..

Full sized basketball, no, my hands aren't big enough. Tennis ball or any ball that I can grip well enough, yes. I can palm a basketball, but I can't grip it well enough to take it up and dunk it. At 5'5" being able to grab and hold on to the rim is a big deal for me, last time I got my vertical measured it was about 36". I need to add a few more inches to it to get up and dunk a full sized basketball.

          Speaking of dunking, here's a cool app I found a while ago - http://dunkcalculator.com/index.php

Apparently, I need to add 2 more inches to my vert to be able to dunk a full sized basketball.

Ha, cool app. Apparently I need a 31 inch vertical to dunk. Done and done.

                Re: Can you dunk?

Yes at 6'1" and a half (or 6'3" if I were gonna be "listed" as a pro) although not quite as easily at 28 as it was at 21.

But I'm definitely stronger and in better condition now seeing as I live a much healthier lifestyle than I did in college (I'm a corporate health and fitness specialist). I'm 190ish now, was 180ish back then.

This will just go on my list of sports regrets.
This is kinda me as well. Just turned 32 and the knees aren't the best so sadly I don't think I'll be dunking ever again. I'm 5'11 and was able to dunk a few times at training but never in a game unfortunately.

I was obsessed with hoops at the end of high school and did two full runs of the air alert II program and added 14 inches to my vert. The program works but it's very hard on the joints.

I'm 6'2" and I have dunked, but never during a game. And I always had a problem to palm the ball. Now, at 36, I won't even try. And after 6 years with no basketball (or any sort of sport!)...I'd better forget about it.

Im 6"3 and can dunk one handed off vert. But it is mostly attributed to my 6"8 wingspan cause I cant jump very high.

Do you guys find it more effective to leap off 1 or 2 feet? I could NEVER ever leap off 2 feet, it just didn't work at all.

                            1. I can do 2 but, it's easier w/ one.

I can do both. But one foot just keeps your momentum a bit more.
