Some Rules that the NBA should lose / add . . .

I wanna know what you guys think the NBA should change, just to make the game better.

One thing I hate is when two players go for a loose ball, and one person gets it falling out of bounce, he throws it off someone else. That has to like an automatic possesion for the other team. It's just to cheap to do that.

Referees have to give a chance to NBA players to argue their case instead of giving them a quick T. It should be one warning if the complain gets too excessive. I have seen way too many calls where refs don't even give warnings.

I really would like to have a booth review on questionable calls like the NFL does it. The refs these days are very inconsistant. I know if they have booth reviews, the game would stretch out too much, but maybe they could have it like in the last 3 min. of the game.

I also don't like the 7 game playoff format. Lets say there is a very, very good West, team against a good East team in the Finals. If this West team has home court advantage, and goes up 3-0 in the series, and are looking for the sweep, that would mean that they would win the championship away from home. The playoff format should have Game 4 or 5 at the West's home. This would be difficult I guess because of the travel, but these days we won't see many Finals last 6 or 7 games.

Get rid of the stop the fastbreak when the shot clock expires and the oposing team doesn't hit the rim.

The only rule I don't like is the 'hand check'. It draws too many cheap fouls on big men. In fact, I don't like most of the fouls called in the post game. Two guys fighting for position should be left alone, unless it gets way out of control, and they should only call fouls in the post if they're obvious.

I liked it better in the early 90's when guys could really battle for postion. Nowadays if Duncan is posting up someone like Forston in the post, more then likely he will get called for a foul. It doesn't seem fair.

I have to agree on this. Because I hate seeing those off the ball fouls that have nothing to do what going on with the ball and the refs always seem to call touch fouls.

what's wrong with throwing the ball off another player out of bounds??? that is just basketball. There is only so much you can change. It's not fair when the defender boxes out a guy, i mean he should be able to have an equal chance at getting a rebound right? When someone shoots, the defense shouldn't be allowed to put their hand up..that doesnt give the shooter a clear view of the basket.

Who cares where the series winning team wins?? Also most refs do give warings, it isn't an "official" rule, but most of them do. Now if someone has an outrageous outburst he is automatically called, but that doesnt happen often, at some time in the game the ref will warn a player if he is arguing a bit too much. no offense but most of your requests are silly.

Personally, I'd like to see goaltending removed. Maybe I'm not thinking about it enough but I think it'd be fun to watch someone on defense time a 3 pointer perfectly so they can jump up and swat it away right in front of the rim. It's also a very difficult call to make for refs and doing away with it would be a simple fix.
