A goalie has to guard a much bigger area. It only takes a fingernail to redirect the basketball away from the hoop. More than half of the points scored would be from the FT line (unless they can goaltend those too) and that doesn't sound very exciting.

I like the international rule on goaltending. Once the ball hits the rim, you can tip or grab it.

I think the stupidest rule they have right now is the defensive three second rule. What's the point of having zone defenses if you can't guard an area instead of a man?

That rule is kinda stupid but if they took it out, everyone would camping and that's no fun to watch. That's why teams use "shifting-zone".

The only rule that really bothers me is one mentioned above. When the ball doesn't hit the rim and a shot clock violation is called, the other team has to stop, even if they already have the ball and they are about to make a break. It totally ruins the flow of the game.

A lot of the hand checks I don't like, but can live with.

The no-shot blocking rule will NEVER be instituted. Yao would just swat everything out of the way.

Most of the rules I think work well. Some stop the flow of the game, but that might be to the advantage of the team which initiated the foul. In any case, other than the one I mentioned above, I'm cool with the rest.
