I don't see why not. His game is unstoppable due to his height and shooting touch, plus he's fairly athletic and only 24 years old.

Yeah but any time you throw "all time" out there you have Jordan and Wilt..
Then you have Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Kobe Bryant, Alex English, Kareem, Bird, Iverson, Gervin.. It's just a tough group of guys to say Durant could score better than.

I'm not even sold on the fact that Durant is a better scorer than LeBron, a better shooter yes, but scorer? Idk I think if it's what LeBron wanted he could lead the league in scoring, in fact he's said he could himself..

You realize that if Durant stays on his pace he will be right there with those names, right? What's so hard to fathom about him being one of the greatest scorers? His shooting range alone makes him dangerous and when you couple that with his ability to get to the basket and finish and also draw fouls, you have the makings of an all-time great scorer.

Gotta stop you there. Yes, Durant is a better scorer than LeBron, Carmelo is also a better scorer than LeBron. LeBron is the better overall player than the two of them, but they are better scorers. LeBron simply is not the shooter that they are. He can't score in consistently in the all the ways that they can. Winning scoring titles isn't the only thing that there is to your scoring ability and rating it up against others. No one can attack the basket like LeBron, if he attacked like he's capable of all the time I'm sure he could win some scoring titles too, doesn't mean he's suddenly a better scorer than either of those guys.

And just for good measure durant has actually won what three straight scoring titles? He's the best scocer without question the league has. You can not only look at the nba games for evidence but look at how team USA has depended on his scoring in the fiba tourney and in 2012 london..

Durant maybe the best scorer in the league now but playing with Westbrook brings down the ability of being able to break some records I believe his career high for a season is 30.1 which is below some of the great scorers benchmarks like Kobe's 35, Jordan's 37, Iverson's 33, Tmac's 32, Lebron's 31 and of course Wilt's 50

Durant is the best scorer in the NBA right now. It's ridiculous not to think he can break scoring records at this rate. He's already a 3x scoring champ what more does he need to prove. I don't want to really do a Lebron comparison but they both play in two different systems and have two different styles of scoring.

I put it this way, If LeBron focused more on offense, without playing defense as tough as he does. Then there is a possibility he could be a scoring champ. Then again we wouldn't know because he plays with Wade and Bosh. Then on top of that he has pretty good jump shooters on his team. So to me there is really no need for LeBron to focus primarily on scoring every night.

On the other hand here's Durant in a systematic offense usually geared toward him taking more jump shots and running off of screens to shoot a jumper if Westbrook isn't taking 20 plus shots. In the playoffs without Westbrook this year we saw Durant play kind of that point foward role, but honestly it wasn't that effective. Not because Durant isn't great in that department but I think its only because he doesn't have what LeBron has as a team outside of Westbrook.

Can anybody actually define what they mean by potential? Durant has a 7'5" wingspan and an extremely high bball IQ if he turns the corner defensively with his already ridiculous offensive gifts, there's no way in hell PG comes close to being a better player than him. BTW, KD 24 years old, PG 23. Both these guys have more than enough time to get better. As it stands right now, KD is much further advanced offensively than George is ahead of him defensively.

Ok, but then put 25ppg on Paul George and how good is he? Statistically he'd be pretty close to Durant. Rebounds, assists, and steals are about the same for both players(Durant - 7.9, 4.6, and 1.4. George - 7.5, 4.1, and 1.8). Factor in his defensive ability and I think he would stack up pretty well against Durant.

well he wouldn't break the career PPG record at this rate which is in the 30s. He'd also would need to play and maintain his scoring average in to his mid-late 30s to break the record for most points in a career. He's unlikely to break any seasonal scoring records so I don't see how it's ridiculous at all

Paul George defense is an elite level it speaks for itself. But His offense I'm not sold.

Lots of improvement would need to be made, but I think he could. 25 would probably be his max though. Right now he's about an 18-20ppg scorer. Technically his average is 17.4, but if you look at him month by month he's averaged 18+ since December. That's with a poor shooting percentage and only 3.5 FTA per game.
