Really smart deal for GSW, giving up pieces that weren't being used much this year and weren't going to ever be contributors in the playoffs for a true PG with loads of playoff experience.

Shumpert sprained his surgery repaired knee a few minutes ago. Had to be helped back to the locker room.
So it doesn't look like he'll be traded.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Jack for Thompson?
ESPN has learned Cavs are in talks w/Sacramento on deal to swap Jarrett Jack for Jason Thompson. BUT Cavs looking for third team to route JTESPN's Marc Stein is reporting via Twitter that the Sacramento Kings and Cleveland Cavaliers are working toward a trade involving Jason Thompson and Jarrett Jack.
However, the Cavs are searching for a third team to get involved before talks can get serious, per Stein:
"As talks currently stand, I'm told Cavs NOT inclined to send Jarrett Jack to Sacramento UNLESS they find third team to take Jason Thompson."
This proposed deal is a head-scratcher for the Kings. Although they've been in the market for another point guard to place behind Isaiah Thomas, Jack's salary isn't very favorable. You Look Good, You Feel Good. You Feel Good, You Play Good. You Play Good, They Pay Good. - Deion Sanders

I like this move for the lakers. It puts us in even more tank mode than before, and helps a struggling gsw bench. If barnes ever breaks out again like he did in the playoffs, him and blake would be good assets. I also really like steve blake and am glad to see him play for a team like gsw. A team that can use him and make a deep playoff run, and be a threat to make the finals in the the very near future.Lakers

Well that sucks... who are the cameras going to focus on now when Stephen Curry hits heat check 3's in the playoffs? Nemanja Nedovic? Ognjen Kuzmic?"Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Everyone keeps talking about GSW making a deep playoff run or the finals.. They need to be worried about just making the damn playoffs.. Haven't they dropped to the 8th seed, with Memphis knocking on the door to take it from them???
They need a little more offensively, too much talent on that team for Curry and Klay both to pull up for a 3 every time they have a little space.. Great shooters, probably best shooting duo in the league, but have to understand when to take and when not to take those shots.. Same scenario as Portland's backcourt.Comment

The Warriors will be fine and will make the playoffs. Thing is about the west, I could see the 8th seed beating the 1st seed. The difference between the 8 teams wouldn't really be that much. The difference between the 8th and 4th seed is like 4 games.
Every team that makes the playoffs in the west has a chance to make a run.
They needed a backup point guard really bad. How they thought Toney Douglas would suffice is beyond me. There had to be other options out there.Comment

"The hardest thing is really for my family, really," Blake said. "I got a wife, three little kids and now I'm going to have to spend four months, probably, away from them and so that's going to be the hardest part.
You'd think he was going to the East Coast or somethingComment

They'll make the playoffs. I wouldn't worry about that. But Curry and Klay pulling up threes is far not their biggest problem.
To me their biggest problem is Mark Jackson's offensive system or lack there of. Theres only a small limited number of plays that they run and they often resort to awful ISO post ups from Andre, Klay, Barnes, JO and Lee. The only one who should ever post up IMO is Lee and maybe Barnes. For such a talented team with a lot of scoring options their offense isn't very clever and very predictable.
But who knows, maybe Mark is just a mastermind waiting for the playoffs to bust out all his great offensive sets. Probably not though.

Ken Berger reports "The Sixers are reportedly willing to trade Evan Turner for a second-round pick."
I guess there's a chance that Heat rumor (for 1st rd pick, Haslem & Jones) might actually shed some light. Would the Knicks want Turner? I'd love a deal where the 76ers get Miami's picks, Knicks get Turner, and the Heat get Shumpert, all whilst keeping Haslem in Miami. A rotation of Cole, Shumpert, Chalmers, Wade and James would be such a lethal defense, perimeter-wise.
Make it happen Riley! ahaLast edited by vtcha; 02-20-2014, 04:24 AM.Comment
