There is no playoff deadline to sign players who were not on an NBA roster on March 1st.

Assuming that if they vet 1, it'll be Brewer and that's a great add going in. Brewer thrives in these systems that utilize the defense to fast break transition and he will get right quick. Snell bound to lose minutes but we know that playoff rotation wasnt going to be kind to him

Brewer would be great. I've wanted the Heat to get him basically all year.. I guess his poor outside shooting kept them from considering him.. He would have been a nice replacement for all these games Wade has missed.. Would have easily fit their defense. He's an underrated offensive player too, not much for a jump shot but he can get buckets if you need it.

Ronnie Brewer sure has been tossed around a lot the past two seasons. Leaves the Bulls in the offseason to go the Knicks, ends up in Oklahoma City by the end of the year, then signs with the Rockets to start this season, then gets released and now he's back in Chicago.

Yeah, he's bounced around here. He works best in Tom's system though, so provided there are minutes for him, I like this signing. Not gonna lie, I've missed Ronnie. Loved him when he was here even if offensively he left a lot to be desired.

Ehh, I didn't miss him playing hot potato with the basketball when he lost all confidence in his offensive game.

He's a body that they can throw at someone defensively in the playoffs. Granted he actually cracks the rotation.

If you were a fan of Mike James and Lou Amundson in Chicago, then good news for you, friend.

The Bulls officially announced the previously reported signings of veterans Mike James and Lou Amundson on Thursday.

Coach Tom Thibodeau said on Wednesday that the team's rotation is set. So these signings, like Ronnie Brewer's recently, are for injury insurance, practice bodies and potential trade pieces this summer.

                    Carmelo Anthony to Phoenix?

Some minor salary changes would need to happen, but I can only imagine Melo, the Slash Brothers, 4 1st round picks from the best draft in years and their outstanding supporting cast (Green, Marcus Morris, Markeiff Morris, Plumlee, Len, Goodwin etc). Phoenix is also a big market with a winning history. All things considered, this seems the best move for him (including CHI, HOU and LAC, which won't happen anyway).

                    Has anyone else considered this?

Any move that requires going to the western conference is automatically not the best move for Carmelo. If he's leaving New York (which he's not), he's doing it for a better chance at winning a title. Your best chance at winning a title is doing it in the east and not trying to slay giants in the west.

I look at Charlotte and what they do defensively and their cap space. I think that would be a great fit for Memo if he was seriously thinking about winning a title and still getting his money.

With his connection to Jordan and Jumpman I'm sure Jordan and his people would market the hell out of Carmelo. Just highly doubt he or his wife would want to live in Charlotte.

Greg Smith signed by Chicago. Sounds like many expected him to be claimed earlier. Not terribly familiar, but sounds like a solid pickup for next year. Can thank Asik for helping crowd the Houston bench enough to warrant t his release

Didn't mean to rain on that Melo moment, either.. lol

I never liked him in HOU

Don't know how much of an opportunity he really got but Terrence Jones is a way better player from what i've been able to see, and probably why he lost that starting spot. I'm saying starting for the Rockets might've not been the best situation for him but he was out of the rotation completely.

Hmm maybe there was something keeping teams back.. Pretty low risk move, though. Wouldn't disagree with Jones being the better talent, overall situation not being the best one to flourish.
