These Embiid injuries keep piling up. I'd be worried if I was a team tanking specifically for him...

Stress fracture in his back? Yeah, consider me petrified. Not that Milwaukee will win the 1st pick anyways, so it's probably a non-issue. I'm expecting we'll pick 4th or 5th when it's all said and done, so I'm probably hoping for Exum as the best case scenario.

        Re: 2014 Draft Class

I think Andre Iguodala is a really good comparison for Wiggins. While Andre is a swingman, I think Wiggins is the pure SF version of Iggy.

Both are around the same height at 6'6" and 6'8" (there's Wiggins' SF size) and both are long, with them having the same 6'11" wingspan. They both have a lean-athletic build with Wiggins at 200 and Iggy was at ~207 earlier in his career. I think it's worth noting that Iggy stayed 2 years, so Wiggins has another year or so to keep bulking up. I don't think Wiggins will ever get the shoulders or arms that Iggy has, no matter how much size he puts on; just slightly different body types. Both have great athleticism overall and excel in transition.

Both are high-40% shooters from 2, mid-30% shooters from 3, and mid-70% shooters from the line. Both are pretty capable rebounders for their position due to their athleticism, the same with being good defensively. Why I think he's the pure SF version, is because I see Wiggins as a better scorer than Iggy, but not a better passer and creator.

The most telling reason to me is their demeanor. Neither Iggy or Wiggins have the aggressiveness and fire like a #1 is supposed to have. Neither of them play like a MJ or Kobe, but they can be very effective in any role as long as the pressure isn't on them 100% of the time.

I actually really, really like that comparison. Best I've seen.

Wiggins is probably already more skilled offensively than Iggy has ever been. I've always considered Iggy more of a power player while Wiggins is more finesse. I think Wiggins has the potential to be a significantly better shooter especially from deep.

Thought of this today but Wiggins reminds me of a better version of Harrison Barnes though he can get to the rim better than Barnes could at UNC. Same questions about demeanor and fire etc.

Already getting rid of Brandon Knight? Has he been that bad for you guys?

Agreed. He's shown that his offensive game isn't that bad either, he's just too passive at times and disappears. He's a better athlete as well.

Iggy can play point forward and has a decent handle. Wiggins ain't built like that yet

Knight hasn't been that bad, started slow with injuries but been probably at least as good as expected since then.. OJ Mayo on the other hand has been horrible.. It would make more sense for them to grab a PG and move Knight to SG or maybe a 6th man if he would accept that role.

Although it's definitely a good comparison in terms of physicalty, athletic ability and defense, I think the Iggy comparison significantly underestimates Wiggins potential as a socrer. I think aggressiveness and assertiveness in his offensive game will come with time.

                      Re: 2014 Draft Class

I thought I made it clear enough that I think Wiggins will be a better scorer than Iggy, but not a better creator.

                      Iggy's second year: 32 min, 13 pts, 8.5 boards, 5 assists, 1.5 steals on 45% from 2 and 32% from 3.

                      Wiggins: 32 min, 17 pts, 6 boards, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals on 45% and 35%.

I'm trying to say I think he will be a better scoring but worse passing/creating version of Iggy. Take away 4 of Iggy's assists and add 4 points and you have Wiggins lol. I wouldn't say either one is more athletic than the other - 6ers Iggy was a goon. I agree that Iggy is more power and Wiggins is more finesse, but they can each do both. I think a better scoring Iggy is a more accurate comparison than a worse scoring Tmac if you get what I'm saying. It's all just my opinion, which is worth about $.02.

I would love if he becomes aggressive like a Tmac though! League could use another guy like that. It's hard to gauge before he starts playing in the pros. Tmac went from scoring 15 to 27 in 1 season; anything can happen, and that wasn't til his 4th year in the league.

He is playing well. But Duke going to lose this one unless something changes. Too many fouls.
