    Re: 2014 Draft Class

It's crazy how a few games can turn around people views of the players lol. I love it!!

The Twins just put themselves in the first round of the draft lol.

Also Mr Randle is a beast. I can't really think of any player I can compare him too. It's because of his ability to put the ball on the floor from 15 feet. Knock his opponent balance and finish strong in the lane. I think he will develop a post up and med range jumper game eventually.

A few games shouldn't change one's view all that much. The Harrison twins are having a solid run but I'm still not all that impressed with their pro prospects.

Randle too is still so raw and very mechanical IMO. No fluidity to his game, very stiff and upright. Still at top 5 pick or top 8 at least.

Their games are better suited for the NBA I think. Aaron Harrison has shot much better in the tournament from 3 (54%) partly because he is getting better looks, and partly because he's just been hitting the "big" shots for Kentucky. He hit 4 threes in the second half against UM, including that game winning one. He hit the three with 30 seconds against UL that gave them the win as well.

Regarding Randle, I agree he's still raw but disagree about the other part. There's not a ton of big men that can take the ball from the 3 point line and then make a move to the hoop and score with ease like Randle does. He has to improve on his post game, but I've seen a few hook shots & other things that make me think he will adjust fine. He's still the most NBA ready player in this class imo.

He definitely has the ability to take it to the basket but he does have trouble holding onto it and getting it up to the bucket for a shot. He gets stripped or loses it a lot out of bounds a lot. He just needs to refine his ball skills and develop his skill set overall, including his jumper and back to the basket game.

He for sure has pro physical tools and his instincts for boards are impressive. Like I said previously, I see him making an Andre Drummond type impact on the next level. Very raw guys but will still be quite valuable in their own right. Just have to develop.

Yea I can't agree with everything that's being said here about Randle.

            <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/SdsY62qaCoA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And that was earlier in the season (first game actually). I would of shown the last few games but they took down his highlights on youtube already.

Because in my opinion... In transition he is going to be a BEAST. Because he can handle the ball the all the way to the 3 point lane. The ball skill will come. I just think he had a few that didn't go his way last few nights. But once he makes contact with you. It's over lol.

                Re: 2014 Draft Class

Randle being able to handle the ball will help some, but it's not going to be the difference maker in making him a better offensive player. And unless he can show he can hit jumpers nobody is going to play him close enough to give him room to drive anyways. At this point offensively he's a very watered down Blake Griffin. He's not as quick, not as explosive, doesn't have a mid range shot, doesn't finish on both sides of the rim, doesn't handle the ball as well, doesn't finish over people.. That's what I see.

He'll be a good pro, and either have an immediate starters impact, or a big bench role like Taj Gibson, but I agree with ex. He's going to be a big rebounder, hustle play maker, probably good in transition.. But he's not a guy you draft if you expect him to have an immediate offensive impact.. He's not a franchise carrying guy that some of these other guys could potentially be.

Blake Griffin could not do any of that coming out of Oklahoma. Randle is more skilled than he was coming out of school. I don't see why you're comparing Blake Griffin now to Julius Randle who is a freshman in college.

Blake Griffin was better at everything I named as rookie, except for he didn't have his outside shot yet, but he at least would take it and make the defense adjust.

lol, imagine if Wiggins didn't declare for the draft. Sure it'd still have talented guys in it, but teams who might have been eying him and "tanking" would've been so mad

Especially since Jabari and Embiid have both been in "possibly staying" rumors.. If all 3 of those guys didn't come out this draft would be really disappointing lol

I might take Wiggins over Jabari/Embiid if I had the #1. In terms of ceiling I have it at: Wiggins, Embiid, Parker, Exum, Vonleh. Wild card: LaVine.

I think if you want someone to produce immediately, pick Jabari. But if you're willing to develop your pick for a higher reward down the road, Wiggins or Embiid would be your guy.

I don't think Embiid should go #1 regardless. Just not a big man league anymore and there's two great wings available. If it was 2013, sure, Embiid would go #1, but I wouldn't take him #1 this year.

Wiggins' defensive intensity and ability make me go with him as #1. Although nobody really wows me in terms of being a franchise carrying prospect.

Wiggins will at least give you that defensive effort when he's floating on offense and looking lost or disinterested. That will be worth a lot in transition and game-changing moments.

Parker is a legit scorer but it's nothing overly special. It's going to be an interesting and wide open draft order.
