It's easy to look at a gif, look at the replay while watching and say "how does a referee miss that?"

These guys are pro athletes man...I've been fortunate enough to sit court side quite a bit and these guys are lighting fast...it's crazy...I've seen LeBron up close go through the lane repeatedly and get slapped hard enough that it's audible to everyone and not get the call...now if he bully's his way that next possession, or sales the contact the next time he gets hit...it's a travesty.

Instances where Durant, other players toss their head back...yes, simple physics should tell you that's acting...and it's inexcusable that they call that mess...but the bang bang plays that happen in the NBA are about as tough to officiate as it gets...

This is exactly why I don't have a problem with guys selling a call when there is actual contact.

But I do think somebody needs to talk with the refs and try to get them to watch a little closer and be a little more hesitant with the whistle on all of these non contact acting fouls, like in that Durant gif..

Again, refs see this bull**** happen on a consistent basis in front of their faces every other night. They have extensive footage and experience first hand with this flopping crap. Don't think for one second that the ref who called the foul doesn't know that he ****ed up that call. Watch that same ref fall for it in another week.

Refs are human, we all get that. They also have the benefit of being trained to look out for these flops. They know which guys are the usual suspects at this stuff. They have access to game footage of calls they missed after every game. They are paid to do this, and while nobody is going to be perfect, you'd think by now they'd be getting better at spotting KD's head flail. Again, in the context of a basketball game that type of reaction is just not natural.

Like I said, they should know better with the head jerking and all that stuff....ive complained about the exact same thing...but some of the bang bang stuff is just really hard to decipher on the spot...

If we start having no calls based off reputation and film study then were no better off than we are now IMO

And I specifically pointed out in one of my posts that I realize not all calls are easy. I posted the Durant head flail gif for a reason. I wasn't talking about the bang-bang calls that are obviously tougher to call.

I also never said calls should be based off reputation, rather that players have their tendencies and the officials are well aware of this (or should be). There are players who flop more regularly than others, with specific flopping tactics (i.e. the head flail) and the officials know that yet still fall for the same bullcrap.

8 minutes of gameplay has resulted in 14 fouls in the miami toronto game.

bet you cant guess the 1 heat player to join JV and amir as the only 3 players without fouls
