I wasn't the one who tried to bring up Miami.. All I was saying is that it was relatively easy for those Laker and Spurs teams because they were the only two teams who had multiple star players.. Like today's league, like the 80s/90s..

I think you still missed the whole point of the topic though. You're talking about whether guys were contenders or not and just completely ignoring what we actually witnessed in history. The Blazers were one win away from the Finals...actually they were five minutes away but they collapsed down the stretch blowing a 15 point lead (I personally think there was some shady stuff with that one too but I'll leave that alone) so all this guys being washed up and being a contender stuff doesn't matter there. Do we really need to bring up what happened to the Kings?

You're right.. I agree on that..

I think anyone here would know I really disliked those Laker teams so I was definitely rooting for those teams, especially Portland since they had Pippen.

All I was saying is that throughout that entire "weak" (sorry if that's the wrong word) point the league was in, the Spurs and Lakers were the only two teams with multiple superstars at the same time. Even with Dallas, Dirk wasn't Dirk yet and Nash wasn't Nash yet, Pippen, and Smith were nearly 50, it's laughable that I have to consider Bibby and Peja a superstar, it just isn't surprising those two franchises dominated the way they did..

Besides that, the Lakers team mentioned wasn't the team the barely beat the Blazers or kings, it was the team that was 15-1 only dropping one game to Philly.. Who also was a poor definition of a "great team"..

I think the way this 1st rd is playing out its unfortunately shaping up to benefit the Heat. I think only the Pacers could give the Heat a run once the playoffs started, or as long as the Pacers played like they were capable of anyway.

Now its looking like the Pacers will collapse completely and not get past the Hawks, and with the heat getting some much needed rest after sweeping the Bobcats, I dont think much stands in there way to get back to the finals.

Nets could possibly put a scare in the Heat just because of experience. I do think Washington has plenty of talent, but I think there lack of experience will effect them the farther they go. I did think they could and would beat the Bulls, because the Bulls just dont have the fire power for the playoffs. IMO the Raptors nor the Hawks have any chance against the Heat. I suppose if the Hawks continue to shoot lights out they will stand a punchers chance, but the chances of then continuing to shoot lights out isnt great, and they just happened to get lucky and catch the Pacers on a epic collapse.

As a Pacer fan from birth I have seen it all from being bad to good, too bad again, to being good. Larry Browns last year as coach, and when Isiah Thomas was coach was the only time I have ever been so disgusted with the players under performing until these last few months. Yeah we have had some bad years and horrible coaching like JOB, but those teams didnt have a lot of talent, and capable of winning it all like this group.

I actually thought in all the years this years team was the best team in Pacers NBA history with only the ABA championship teams being better. Its embarrassing to watch these guys play and I have never been so disgusted with one of my teams as I have been this one. I never thought the past 2 years of the Reds with Dusty Baker could ever be topped for ticking me off and embarrassing me until now.

Pacers are 0-10 in 3-1 series.... Jeez Didn't know what.

Pacers have few things working against them right now. First off of all the match-up they could of pulled. They got the Hawks smh. They spread the floor with shooters and if you play big. You'll be asking your big man to do a lot. So not only is their offense bad. But their defense is just as bad. You have to ask yourself. WTF happen. Sounds like Vogel might get the boot after this season.

Surprising to see...Raptors-Nets game drew 3.8M viewers in USA alone. Add in the Raptors fans who watched it in Canada and that's close to 5M total viewers! Not bad for a series that was expected to do horrible in TV ratings because of the whole "Raptors fans don't count towards TV ratings" stuff.

It's not a shot at peoples comments or anything, it's the truth though and I actually expected it too. Raptors games are always expected to do worse in USA ratings since half the teams playing in that game don't count towards the USATV ratings. In any sports game, the 2 cities that produce the most viewers are the 2 cities playing in the game, and since 1 of those cities doesn't factor into the ratings, I was expecting the ratings to be low too.

Same thing happens in NHL whenever you get any of the Canadian teams facing an American team. Ratings in both countries aren't as great as it should be because half the teams in the game count towards a different networks viewership.
