All those teams were beating on each other, but not on the Bulls. You knew the Bulls were going to win. In the eastern playoffs it wasn't even competitive, the Bulls lost 1 game total in the whole Eastern playoffs.

Now, Miami winning isn't a sure thing. Some more teams winning 40 games didn't change anyone's mind that the Bulls were't gonna win. Indiana, Chicago, now even Charlotte could all take Miami to 7 in the Eastern playoffs.

Orlando had just eliminated the Bulls the previous year in the playoffs, yeah there were some circumstances to consider there, but if we want to sit here now almost twenty years later and act like nobody in the NBA/eastern conference had reason to believe that they could win the title that year, then cool, whatever. I won't derail this thread anymore with this beat to death debate.

I think his original point was the same one you're making now. Just because one team is favorited doesn't mean there won't be any reason to watch.

The West will still be very competitive and the Heat can still lose in the ECF, Finals, whenever.

            Pretty much.

I was a fan of MJ's game like everyone else but I wanted that team to lose so bad...pure dominance.

Yeah the Heat will just blow through and dominate everyone and win the title easily just like last year.

If you don't want to watch the NBA because a great team stayed great..then gg have fun watching another league.

Seems to be reports about LeBron wanting to re-sign with the Heat on a max contract (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-...oster-upgrades) though I don't really buy into it as it's quite conflicting and defeats the whole purpose of the Big 3 + UD opting out. No doubt LeBron deserves the max but I really don't believe that Wade, Bosh and UD all opted out just to accommodate James nor do I think James would want to burden Miami's cap flexibility- it's not like he needs the money to begin with. My gut feeling tells me something is brewing...

I remember reading somewhere that LeBron was going to meet up with Melo this off-season much like he did with Wade and Bosh.

dont care either but if they REALLY want to win they need to be taking 10-12 a year and get an actual bench this season

The Finals against the Spurs were a different story, but in the East playoffs they basically did just as you suggested. 4-0, 4-1, and 4-2, with a blowout in the final game, and LeBron having the worst game of his life just to make it a 6 game series.

I think if the East were better, and it didn't virtually guarantee the Heat a spot in the Finals, it would be a different story. For instance, right now the only real hopes of dethroning them in the East is Melo joining up in Chicago, and Derrick Rose somehow being the same player despite two major knee surgeries. And even then it might not be enough. And that's not the Heat's fault, I know, and it's on those East teams to close the gap, but it's pretty damn hard to if the Heat take the best player off the #3 team in the conference for the 2nd time in 4 years.

It's just that more people oppose it because of how the Heat built their team, goes back to the whole 'Built vs Bought' thing, Miami trying to eliminate competition by signing marquee players. As opposed to 'built' dynasties like the the Spurs who had gotten their players through the draft. That way, even if the latter dominates, there is at least some sort of respect left for them because they built their team from the ground up.

If the heat get more really good or allstar players i cant be mad at anyone who wants to quit watching the nba. I fully understand where those people are coming from, and i think anyone who criticizes them is needs to chill out. On the other hand i dont lead a very interesting life outside of fishing, and shooting up people on xbox, and tho i may watch less playoff games, i cant see myself leaving nba basketball. I also think anyone who may go out of there way to not watch basketball just out of dislike of the miami heat should really learn to take a sport(one which you are not getting payed to play, and does not effect your life at all)way less seriously.

I could never stop watching the NBA... sure it would piss me off, especially since the Heat are in my division, but if I didn't stop watching after 7-59, nothing is going to make me stop.

Part of me actually does kind of want them to stay together so the Hornets can get a damn win against them.

Sorry, but with the resounding victories the Spurs had, you just know everybody would emphasize to bring up that point more than ever.
