Knicks need Jackson IMO not Kerr

I think Kerr will also fit in better with the Warriors as well

I am pleased as a fan

Steve Kerr has agreed to a 5 year, approximately $25 million deal with Golden State, source tells Yahoo.

Too much pressure with a crap team in New York, Kerr made a good move all around. The situation in Golden State is so much more attractive in my eyes, from the roster, to the fanbase, to the new arena, to the fact that Kerr won't have to worry about making huge philosophy changes as he would have had to do in New York.. i.e. have to convince Melo to make changes to his game as well as actually figuring out how to change his game

Ha! I asked what would happen if this goes down. So Knicks have to look to Jackson now, right? I'm sure he definitely wants the job unless he's holding out to see what happens with OKC.

Holy ****. Wonder what the Knicks' offer was.

Where the hell do we go from here? It ain't Mark Jackson.

                Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

My question for the Warriors now is how much time/patience are they going to have for Kerr? Because wasn't one of Ownership's issues that the team should be better than 6th in the West and that it's ready to win now?

Obviously they're not going to be lottery bound(assuming it's the same exact team)and should still be in contention for a playoff spot, but are they going to give him the time to grow/improve as a Coach since he has no coaching experience?

I'm hoping it's end up like the last guy they hired off of TV to become their Coach but to give him more time, lol.

Im guessing since this is less money than he was asking for from the Knicks, it has somewhat to do with not uprooting his family from Cali as well.

Also, you hardly see a coach anywhere for 5 full years

Is the new arena even a lock still? Last I heard/read on that, they were looking at 5-6 years at the earliest before they'd get it.

                      Good choice by Kerr imo.

They have a new arena plan. The one that they were planning to build on one of the piers didn't work out. They're looking to get the new arena in 2018 I believe.

Kinda surprised to see them bring in Kerr just because I thought they would go with someone with experience. Happy with the decision though. Kind of reminds of the Grizzlies firing Hollins last year and picking up joerger.

I was a big supporter of letting Jackson go and getting SVG... or Karl... or one of the top assistants.. or even Fred Hoiberg....... but another analyst with no head coaching experience?? Not a fan.

Hell I'd prefer D'Antoni if he weren't so hell bent on running any good players he has into the ground (especially with the ICU the warriors can be).

The bigger question now is who goes to the Knicks?? Media made it seem like Kerr was the guy for NYK.

Is Kevin Ollie a possibility? He loves Uconn, but the Knicks could give him bank.
