I don't like jumping to conclusions like this, but man, if San Antonio gets Gasol, just wrap this **** up already. It's over.

And as much as I don't like the Spurs, that team would be ridiculously fun to watch with Pau.

Collison definitely had one of those contract type years last season

I think he did good too. I just thought the playoffs were a little too big of a moment for him. He did very well defensively, and had his moments offensively, that one game he had a little run by himself that basically won it (don't remember which game).. But he just got so wild at times. He would make a great play then turn around and give the other team a great play. I just didn't feel he was ready for that stage is all.

Farmar has been there and won it all in those big moments. Understands more to let the great players make the home run plays. I just like his fit a little more, but I think he can bring Collison's intensity, which they will need.

If there is certainty coming from LA that Love will end up there, either this year in a trade or next year as a free agent, then it starts to make a lot more sense as to why Melo is strongly considering them.

I don't usually listen to Stein, but for the love of god man. This is extremely frustrating if true.

If Melo stays with the Knicks, I'm not really going to give him too much **** because of the family/hometown aspect. I get that. But I'm going to laugh and shake my head if, after trying to say he's all about winning a title, he takes the max to stay or goes to the Lakers.

The Lakers should really be so far removed from this conversation. Dallas, Chicago and Houston would all be infinitely better choices than the ******* Lakers.

Yeah Melo and Love together makes sense. Lakers .ca either dangle Randle to Minny or just sign Love outright next year and keep Randle. Smart hehehe.

As an aside if it's down to the Knicks and Lakers for tea then one of those guys is gonna end up with Love I guarantee.

Dallas is the only one that really stands out in your list imo. Chicago has quite a bit of question marks and you really think a Melo, Dwight, Harden trio led by McHale of all coaches is a winner? They'll win 60 games in reg season and get bounced in the 2nd round.

Melo is only coming here if he has the guarantee Kobe can still play at an elite level anyway. If that was the case, a healthy Kobe Melo Randle Pau four could probably compete.

How is he going to get a guarantee that Kobe can play at an elite level? Dude is 36 coming off basically missing a year and some change of basketball. That's like saying he has a guarantee that Derrick Rose will be healthy and playing at MVP level. There's no way to guarantee that.

Kobe Melo Love and then who else?

The D league fills the rest of the roster? That's a disaster man. Athletes play together all the time, especially at UCLA. Why are they trying to make a big deal out of it

Houston probably the best choice of all for winning based solely on skills and longeivity. however I can see some potential powderkegs with team chemistry, especially since kobe has melo's ear.

Personally I don't think a trio of Melo/Harden/Dwight would win a title, or be very cohesive, but it's a hell of a lot better than playing with a broken and aging Kobe and whatever other garbage the Lakers plan on trotting out this year.

As for Chicago, the only real question mark is Derrick Rose. And without him they've still been one of the better teams in the East (not saying much, I know). He'd also be playing for one of the best coaches in the league in Thibs and I just feel like inserting Melo into a culture of defense, defense, defense, would be really good for him. It's a good marriage IMO combining Melo's scoring with the Bulls' defensive schemes. They both need each other.

You can't guarantee health that's for sure. But at least what kind of shape Kobe is in right now? How did he look in that pick up game? If he looked old and done it's pretty much done in Melo's head. Now if he looked really good it could make Melo think even though yeah you can't guaranty health.

A Melo, Pau, Kobe, Randle foursome is going to have serious defensive problems. Kobe hasn't been an adequate defender in almost 5 years, everyone knows about Melo it's only when he's motivated, Gasol gets outmuscled something fierce and Randle has shaky fundamentals. Then you combine the fact that two of those guys are high usage scorers (almost selfish) and Randle is pretty much going to catch and bulldoze his way. The good thing is 3 of those 4 guys (Melo, Kobe, and especially Pau) are good passers but Kobe and Melo only when they want too. On paper that team isn't going to do anything in the west I'm sorry. Then who is going to be the coach now? So many question marks.
