I mean, I'm happy about the fact that they did their due diligence and tried to bring in a player who's a great fit... but as you said from day 1 of free agency in this thread, and the Jazz beat writers reiterated it over and over again, he was going to be matched regardless.

I think some of y'all are taking some whining over confusion of front office plans as though we're about ready to pull the plug and tank and go back to the LOLcats days. No. I'd just prefer to have some clarity on what exactly we're doing in free agency, which hopefully will come soon. We have a nice young nucleus, and while I don't think any of them will ever be superstars, we're set up pretty nicely for a good run assuming we extend Kemba and bring back Al once his contract is up.

Also, I don't want to add Lance (Because it's bad enough having him and P.J. in the same locker room, let alone playing the same position), but he would be a fantastic addition to bolster what is already a great defense. His passing, ability to orchestrate an offense and also be a secondary ballhandler along with a developing 3PT game would be welcome additions, if he could be tamed.

If he can even play respectable defense, this is a nice pick up for the Thunder. Shot 45% from 3 last year.

Ah I gotcha. I wouldn't worry too much. Vonleh is a great piece, I think he has star potential, and Zeller could be a nice piece going forward. I think the guys to worry about would be MKG and Hairston. Hairston is obvious to worry about, but I don't think MKG will ever develop into anything other than a defensive role player. Maybe I haven't seen enough of him, but he just seems like he's Tony Allen 2.0, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Yeah, I feel the same on MKG. Unless he develops a reliable jumper (Which is probably 5-10 years down the road at this point), you hit the nail on the head. But you need a wing stopper who can lock down the LeBron's, Melo's, Durant's, etc in this league if you are going to compete, and he did very well against LeBron in the playoffs so he could fill a crucial role there.

I'm starting to think I need to do some more research and reevaluate my opinion on Vonleh. I've just kind of lumped him in with your stereotypical athletic, raw, big man that's a high NBA draft pick.

Not gonna try to over-simplify a life decision but I really don't understand why Pau would want to go to Chicago without Melo. Seems like the better option would be either to cash in with a team like Atlanta offering him $11 mil+ per or go to an OKC, SA, or Miami.

Also Thibs will run those old legs into the ground. It'll be Peg-leg Pau out there by the Break.

Fantastic signing for OKC with Morrow imo. He's a knockdown shooter and for a little over 3mil a year it's a good deal. Much rather sign him with that deal than the Pistons giving Meeks 6mil a year.

I agree about Pau. If money isn't a big deal to him at this point, and he's serious about rings, he should've gone to San Antonio.

As a Bulls fan do you even hope they sign him? I know several people have no interest in him without Melo.

Certainly can't blame him for preferring to live in Chicago over SA or OKC, though.

LeBron James is expected to wear No. 32 in return to Cavaliers, which he last wore as a freshman in high school.

Not that there were any questions anyway, but this definitely locks up number 1 in jersey sales

Well Pau could still end up with SA if the Bulls and Lakers sign and trade falls through.

Hmmmmmm, what a quagmire for Cleveland when LeBron eventually retires. Do they retire both #32 and #23 or just one?

I thought he'd just go back to #23 cause it fit him so well, but after all that nonsense he said about Jordan, and the #23, I guess he'd look hypocritical to some.

Where does Houston go from here though? Missing out on Bosh, they traded away Lin for nothing and they're gonna have max Parsons. Tough offseason.
