Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
The NBA they label you all kinds of trash if you don't do what they think you should be like calling you passive or passionless or saying you don't care or don't want to win if you aren't yelling and screaming and making faces and crapComment

The label was from him supposedly not brining the same energy and intensity into every game, or taking plays off during games.. I believe he had the same criticism in high school as well.. But I didn't watch him in HS, and thought he looked normal in college so I can't say how true any of that is.
As far as being "passive" goes that's just not true and the label in general is stupid. Who cares if you pass to an open teammate or settle for a few jumpers, that's all part of basketball.. You don't play 100% full speed right at the rim every single trip..
I hate when people start complaining about players being "passive" but in reverse constantly bash on Westbrook for doing just what they are describing every other player should do.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Sorry guys... Didn't really mean to use the words "take games off". That's kind of a terrible description. Sorry
Wiggins has a history of disappearing in games. His last college game he scored only 4 points (I think). His stats were up and down all season. Not settling for jumpers every single time down (especially after you've missed a few). It's something that should be watched.
I just remember watching a video of LeBron and Chris Paul talking to a bunch of college kids (among them were Stephen Curry and James Harden). You never play to your opponents talent level. You always want to come out and dominate them.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Even before the "1 and done" rule, we had kids coming straight out of high school... we didn't respect the talent they played against then, so wouldn't judge anything of them until they played in the league. People look at the NCAA tournament as a red flag but the tournament is HUGE. A kid straight out of high school that has an entire defense geared to stopping him? Yeah, there are some great ones (and even not so great ones) with the mental make up to deal, but I'm not knocking any that can't. If he had 3 bad tournaments then I might put some weight behind it. But they had other big games over the course of the year, and he certainly didn't have a problem shining in those.Comment
