Unless prime scottie pippen is in the deal, then the very premise of the thought of trading dj should not even exist in this reality, or any other reality that the good lord may have seen fit to create.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Aaron Craft signed by the Warriors to an unguaranteed 1 year deal.
Steve Kerr loves him. I said it before, and I'll say it again, he's going to be a guy that plays in this league for 10+ years. He's never going to be a big time scorer or a starter, but he's an incredible perimeter defender and is the ultimate team player. I'm hoping he makes the NBA roster, that way I can badger him for tickets when the Warriors come to Charlotte lolOhio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I completely understand his value.. And I would also rather have Jordan than Drummond, as of right now anyways. But my point is how much of this "value" is being used once the playoffs actually start and they have to sit him for the last 3-4 minutes of games. If it's a really close game all that value he adds goes out the window because he's on the bench.
I'd much rather then move Crawford or Barnes or both, but I'm not sure that package can land them the type of wing threat they need. They desperately need consistent shooting, far superior to what Dudley and Barnes offer, and someone who can at least make it difficult for Durant , Kawhi, Harden, etc.
Basically my point is they don't need a dominant level center to beat most teams in the West, but they do need a big upgrade on the wing. Especially since JJ can't defend those elite scorers either.. I mean c'mon, they had to use CP3 and Collison together and use Chris Paul to guard Durant.. There is an obviously lacking spot in their rotation.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
So Deandre Jordan creates prime Scottie Pippen trade value yet most people want to remove Dwight off of their top 10 players list.. That's interesting.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Bogut is constantly hurt and Perkins...Lol stop it. So basically if it's just Splitter they should be worried about, then why exactly should they be moving Jordan again? You're taking away the one advantage they have over 80% of the league with their PF/C combo being the most athletic and among the most talented in the league.
Me thinks you're slightly overrating Lopez/Hawes
They aren't worried about Bogut, Splitter, Perkins, that's my point.. You don't need a dominant level center to match up with most teams in the West. Deandre really only gives them an advantage if they were to play someone like Houston or Memphis, and even then it's not an advantage it just reduces the other teams advantage.
I realize he isn't getting traded, and I personally don't want him to get traded. But realistically he's the only movable piece they have that will bring them the caliber of SF they want. That's all I'm really getting at.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Old news but Tony Allen would've been a hand and glove fit.
Not sure what the Clippers tried offering but prior to the signing of VC, a Redick for Allen deal might have worked. Similarly they probably could have gotten Afflalo cheaply then make Crawford or Redick expendable.Last edited by vtcha; 08-06-2014, 09:43 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
The New York Knicks will trade guard Wayne Ellington, forward Jeremy Tyler and a 2016 second-round pick to the Sacramento Kings for forwards Quincy Acy and Travis Outlaw, people with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports.
The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal was not yet announced.
As part of the deal, the Knicks agreed to remove the protection (picks 31-37) on the 2016 second-round draft pick they sent to Sacramento in 2013.
The Kings are expected to waive Tyler and could use the stretch provision on Ellington, who is owed $2.77 million next season, to improve their salary cap situation. But that final decision has not been made.Comment
