Memphis doesn't need another big man. They are already working on an extension with Randolph, they should focus on getting a perimeter shooter/creator.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Well good luck with that. Pau doesn't play defense, he doesn't close out, he doesn't hedge, he doesn't move his feet.
Offensively I see how he could be really good, that is if he can keep up with the pace.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
ESPN reporting that Melo is doing research on life in Chicago. I get that these are rumors and are, as of yet, unfounded, but I really, Really, REALLY don't want to see Melo in a Bulls uniform next year. I don't see it pushing them over the top, as, to me, Melo is not a player who is a part of a championship winning puzzle. He looks out for himself too much for my taste and doesn't quite fit with the way Thibs has crafted this team. Bring in some more defensive role players so that we can match what we had back in 2011 and we can be an NBA Finalist, possibly even an NBA Championship team. Carmelo Anthony is not the answer for the Bulls.
He actually is. If you think Rose is going to come back and play like he did in 2011, you're wrong.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
He'd do just fine on the Spurs, or even Dallas for that matter.
Sure he isn't young anymore, but he is more than just serviceable. A big with a nice shot to stretch you, also an amazing passer.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Tbh I hope the Lakers don't offer him some crazy 10 mil 2 years contract because he's became too inconsistent over the years to be worth that.
He had a decent season production wise last season but the team is in the lottery. He put up stats in games that didn't matter and certainly didn't play defense most of the time.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
True, but if Melo comes here, he won't have to be. Derrick is going to have to change his game a little, and that's fine. I think he can do it. Rose can pick his spots to go off, instead of carrying the burden of being the clear-cut number 1 option for the entire game.
We NEED this to happen.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I dont really get why some are against melo going to the bulls. Thibs can teach him to play positional defense, and the bulls need scoring in the worst way. It doesnt really get any better than melo for chicago. You guys can defend all you want, but at some point in time you have to be able to put the ball in the basket. Melo has a freakin award for being the best at doing that, him with rose is a good fit. They can each get good shots for each other, the bulls will rebound at a higher rate with melo there, and with melo you also get some post scoring. People hate on melo, but the bad system hes in has really amplified the bad the bad things he does to make him seem like a worse player than what he is, sorta like westbrook.Lakers

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
The Chicago Bulls are offering Taj Gibson, Tony Snell, plus the No. 16 and No. 19 picks in this week's draft to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love.
The Bulls are believed to prefer Carmelo Anthony, who will become a free agent on July 1.
Gibson is signed through the 16-17 season.Comment
