fsquid you are such a sandy vagina. I swear to god anyone reveling in this MINOR misunderstanding is either a comple PC sissy or a KG *****. When he said these comments he was unaware how it would be overanalyzed and scrutinized. When there was a huge uproar, he apolagized. Get over it.

And anyone who takes the "how can you compare a game to war, when people die in war" approach. Either you all love to hear the sound of your own preaching or you are the ones really seperated from reality.

When I heard these comments by KG I thought it was unfortunate. Not because of hat he said or because what he said was in any way wrong or offensive. Rather, I thought it was unfortunate because I knew how tools like all of you would get your pannies in a bunch over it.

Actually, my stepbrother is over there now and he might very well come home in a body bag. Ask his pregnant wife and 2 year old child if they are seperated by reality. My stepbrother is over there now so that KG can have no common sense and live in his own fantasy world.

hasn't KG heard of Kellen Winslow Jr.? Also, pro athletes must know that everything they say is scrutinized and overanalyzed, it's how ESPN and other media work...Shaq swore on camera and it was a big deal, so I would hope KG would have the common sense to know that whatever he says will be overanalyzed, especially with a big game 7 coming up, not to mention the Peeler incident.

                  Kevin Garnett

Garnett's fans might know he eclipsed his career bests in scoring, rebounds and blocked shots this season. But they probably have no idea about Mike Mason, a hard-luck kid Garnett first met in Chicago 10 years ago when he was a student at Farragut Academy.

If pressed, he'll acknowledge he's more proud of Mason than all of his statistics combined. Garnett made room for Mason in his life and his home a few years ago.

"I basically got him through some tough times, and he graduated about two years ago and he has a job doing everyday stuff," Garnett said. "So it's kind of good to know I helped somebody along the way just like someone helped me."

The Christmas parties that Garnett has sponsored and hosted for disadvantaged kids don't show up in news reports, in the fashion of charity events by other professional athletes. Nor does Garnett call attention to the foundation he set up that connects minority high school and college students with business leaders.

Without the media coverage, Garnett has opened himself to criticism that he's just another self-centered, highly paid athlete.

"Listen, you never have enough time to do what people think you need to do for the community," Harris said. "It's a Catch-22. You do things quietly. You do things effectively. And that's what Kevin does."

Said Garnett: "In the community, I sort of march to a different beat. I see a lot of people do charity work to help themselves imagewise. My work, I like to keep it to myself."

Nevertheless, center Brad Miller -- who's sparred with Garnett at times this series -- poked a little fun.

"I'm bringing my shotgun, my bow and arrow, my four-wheel drive truck and four wheelers and run over him," Miller said Tuesday. "It's going to be the ultimate battle. He's a warrior, and that's how I like to play when I step between the lines."
