I think picking up McGrady would be a mistake for the Pistons. Rip is the perfect fit in their system. I think if they can hold onto Rasheed and manage to get rid of some of the dead weight in the middle (Campbell). They will be much better off. Trading for TMAC won't solve their problems (which right now doesn't appear that they have any).

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
I agree with what you are saying and the deal would have to pretty sweet. However, what T-Mac does bring that the Pistons don't have is someone that can create their own shot. Chauncey can do against smaller PGs and Sheed can do it when he wants to. But noone at the 2 or 3 really can...and that's where you need it.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

It would be the downfall of Rip's career. He would have to be included in any deal. We all saw how he reacted when he was the main scoring threat for Washington. It wasn't pretty. In Orlando he would be the man. Grant Hill isn't going to give him much, if anything. Howard has seen better days. Gooden will probably be traded this offseason, and they don't even have a PG worthy of starting in the NBA on their roster. Maybe they can acquire one in a Gooden trade. I'm assuming that they select Okafor, but even with him as their starting Center (it's the East, he can handle it), they don't scare anyone. Still maybe one of the 2-3 worst teams in the League.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

They should never trade RIP. The Magic has made far too many bad decisions. Mac has complained, but I would too. He fills the seats and is the reason they stil have a franchise. After Shaq, that team has went downhill fast. Gabriel just sped the process up by not putting any kind of talent around the only scoring threat they have. It's sad that a guy can botch up a team that bad. I'd leave.

If he stays in the East, I'd much rather him go to the Pacers.

I say he goes to Phoenix. By the time he reaches him prime (I still think he is on upside), Stoudamire will be an established Kenyon Martin type player, and he'll have Shawn Marion as the "Pippen." That way he gets to playoffs and people can't say he didn't lead the team.

True, its just that Stoudamire's one of only two scoring options, while the Nets are a fast break machine, meaning the shots are spread out.
