Re: The Unpopular Opinion thread
Just a few here:
-If Larry Bird played in today's NBA with today's athletes, he'd basically be Luke Harangody.
-Kobe Bryant is one of the most overrated players ever. Not a "bad" player by any means, just not deserving of all the attention. More of a chucker.
-LeBron is the best all-around player the NBA has ever seen.Comment

The Unpopular Opinion thread
This one:
The "untouchables" of the 90's, Reggie Miller, Hakeem Olajuwon, Scottie Pippen, etc, seem to get a tad bit more "overrated" as time goes on. Great, great players but it seems as each year passes there is a little chunk of nostalgia factor added.
I actually believe Michael Jordan is slowly entering that group as well, but on a much, much smaller scale because he's the consensus "greatest of all time".
Meanwhile, the guys who don't get the recognition, wether it be from never winning or whatever the case, they seem to become more and more underrated as each year passes. Almost the opposite effect of added nostalgia. Guys like Pat Ewing, Karl Malone, Clyde Drexler, etc.

Re: The Unpopular Opinion thread
Re: your other point, at this point you'd think Ewing was an average player in the league that did nothing but shoot jump shots. Malone too. I think it's partially Bill Simmons and partially the new way of thinking that you measure so much of a player's worth based on their "clutch" ability (poor LeBron). People greatly overblow Ewing and Malone's issues in the clutch, you'd think they never came up big in a huge game or hit a game-winner. The exact opposite of Reggie is true, you'd think he was the greatest clutch player ever and never laid an egg in a big game."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
