I'm praying that the Lakers turn down the Mavs offer, but think about it. If the Mavs don't give up Dirk, why would the lakers agree to the trade.
They already have Payton for another year at PG, and after all the trouble the Lakers go to keep Kobe I'm sure he will stick around. So thats both guard positions taken care of...no need for Nash and Finley. The 5th pick would be nice, but like everyone else said, there isn't any big names this year. They also wouldn't want to face Shaq come playoff time.
I hope to God that the Nets somehow convince the Lakers to trade them Shaq. They have a very good deal on the table already.
