    Re: SHAQ ACCEPTS TRADE!!!!!

Brian Grant,at this stage of his career,is mediocre at best...

I think it shows you how high they are on Dorell Wright if they could've given him up but they chose Butler...That was a good move by Riles,Wright will be a much better player than Butler I can assure you of that!

      Re: SHAQ ACCEPTS TRADE!!!!!

I'm going to tell you why this move is good for Kobe's game. I've watched Kobe and think that he's playing out of position. Sure he can handle the ball, take guys off the dribble, etc. Kobe needs to play closer to the basket.

I think he lost 2 steps even at his youth. He doesn't look quick as he did, especially after he bulked up. Kobe needs to bulk back up and play in the post or on the wing.

In the triangle, Kobe played mostly up top. Alot of screen rolls and improv plays from 25 feet from the basket.

I'm pretty sure the Lakers will use Odom as the facilitator, with Kobe running off sreens to catch the ball in favorable positions 15 feet from the basket.

I'm going to put myself out there and make these predictions: The Lakers will win 50 games next year and be a top 4 seed, Kobe will average 36+ points a game on 44% shooting or better, and Odom will become an NBA all star.

NBA doesn't revolve around centers. Spurs have nesterovic, pistons have wallace, t-wolves have olowakandi, Kings have Miller and Divac.

Now if you mean big men, then you got two different types.

You got big men who primarily play in the post and defend the basket - shaq.

Then you have big men who can play low, high, back to the basket, facing the basket, 16 feet from the basket, step out and guard defenders, etc. - these are skilled athletic big men like J. O'neal, Duncan, Garnett, Gasol, Webber, Nowitski, R. Wallace.

Basically you got one Shaq (knocking guys over and dunking) and you got a few guys like Duncan/Garnett (playing fundamental basketball).

That is incorrect, Shaq has gone on the record and said that the only player he missed that was traded or released was Eddie Jones (this was before last year when he lost Bob Horry also). The only challenge for Miami is injuries, or if Wade can develop into a big shot player. Shaq wont be allowed to take those big shots with today's defenses, and Eddie turns invisible in clutch situations.

And the choir says Amen. I'm surprised that so many heat fans are disgruntled by this trade. The Lakers will still need to find a center/shot blocker with this deal, while the Heat only have to worry about injuries which is something all teams have to worry about. The best bet for the Lakers is if Shaq goes down and that pick ends up in the lottery for 2006. Sure the Lakers have a decent squad, but we'll still need something else to complete the picture and compete for a title.
