Re: Boozer says he didnt make an agreement with the Cavs

Of course Boozer is going to say this. Why wouldn't he try to make the Cavs out to be the bad guy? What is he gonna say, yeah, I stabbed the mother f-ers in the back?

They had an agreement, or else the Cavs wouldn't have let him "test the market". He is too valuable to the Cavs to let him go. Now, I don't necessarily want him back, and hopefully, we can find someone to fill the void. But to you guys who are confused:

Do you think the Cavs would let go the #2 or 3 option on the team, without a verbal agreement? Especially when they would only owe him $695,000 this year?

Yeah but that would be a violation of the cba (illegal agreement) and obviously be meaningless.

Either there was an "under the table" agreement or no agreement at all. Either way the Cavs aren't completely innocent.

If they could keep him for less later, yes.

No, the Cavs wouldn't be innocent, but that is not what I am asking. Do you think that Boozer didn't tell the Cavs that he would resign with them? And KDRE, it wasn't the Cavs who wanted to do this. Pelinka and Boozer went to the Cavs, and asked them to do this for him, and he would sign for the MLE. So it is not the Cavs, wanting to get him for cheaper. They could have waited until next year, and signed him under the Bird Rights, but they did what "HE REQUESTED" and tried to help him out.
Maybe they seen the opportunity to sign him for cheaper, but it was not the Cavs idea to do so in the first place.

Dub T that's not what Boozer said. I dont know really, but it really isn't all of his fault either. The Cavs aren't the victim here as if they had no part and just got hoodwinked I know.

I have no idea what booz promised or not , but i would think it would be odd for a player to promise loyalty for lest money on a team like cleveland - who is still building. Unless they add major pieces the Cavs are still a long , long shot to win a title.
Its just the way it worked out with carlos - he was under-rated comming out of college (all he did was rebound, defend and shoot a very high percentage for the #1 college program in the nation...) Now his contract opens him up to cash in on his market value. - he should be getting his value , its just a matter of ethics and promises - I hope he didn't blatently promise to stay in cleveland, but whatever happened at this point I think he should be set free to the higher contract that he accepts.

-the way i see it , the only promises should be the official written ones , called a "contract". I know i wouldn't be happy if my organization lost out because of million dollar assumptions
