I think Jim Buss is the reason why top FA dont want to go play in LA now. I know Kobe can be a shot jacker, but he has shwon the ability to mesh well enough to win with other star players.
He was alluding to Kobe not taking less money.

Ah, OK I see. Yeah he could have taken less, but it didnt seem like he pushed really for that deal, it seemed like they basically just gave it too him, lol.

I suppose he could have said Ill take less so you can pay to get a better team around me, soyeah can see where he contributed to it in that way.

If players wanted to play with Kobe, they would be in LA. I agree with you on Jim Buss. He too has a hand in why LA is where they are at. But I will not ignore Kobe's contribution to the problem. There's a reason top free agents are avoiding a market and stage as attractive as LA. It might not start with Kobe, but he is part of the problem.

Edit - Yes, his contact makes things difficult, but those things can be worked around in the NBA. I was speaking more so towards him being difficult to play with. Nothing about playing with Kobe is attractive to a young superstar.

Kobe is part of the problem, but he gets way too much blame. Where the hell would that organization be without him.

For the record, Jeanie is on record as saying that final say in that organization goes through her. If she wanted to, she could overrule anything Jim does.

Probably more so cause they are soft and dont want to be pushed, kids today dont like it when they are got on much. Im sure these kids of today wouldnt have liked playing with MJ, Bird, or Magic either, lol. Kobe from a mental standpoint is cut fromt hat same cloth mentality wise, but I dont consider him in the same class with those guys on greatness.

I can see where Kobe's shot selection would rub guys the wrong way playing with him, just like why guys dont care to play with Melo either, they arent the most willing when it comes to passing, or making other better for that matter as well.

I do think as long as Jim Buss has any say in the team, the Lakers are in for a lot of lean years ahead. Personally I have always hated the Lakers, although I loved watching Magic Johnson play, so it is kind of fun watching them fall from grace.

Im not sure about that, or else Phil would have been coached when Jim Buss decided to hire Danfony as coach.

The way I understood it the will stated that Jim Buss was in charge of basketball operations.

I come home and I see a commercial break coming with Carlos Boozer screaming and hollering at people but the Lakers losing by almost 20.

Guy is annoying at this point with his antics

I think it's unrealistic to keep expecting the Lakers to be consistently good just because they're "The Lakers". In the last 38 or so years they've missed the playoffs like 4 times. You're gonna have some down years.

Nah, I'm telling you from her mouth lol. She has final say on everything that goes on in that organization. She chooses to allow Jim to operate without much interference from her because she has faith in him to make the right decisions for the team.

What does **** like this even come from, and I hear it all the time. Do some of you just have the ability to read into "today's players", "these kids", etc minds?

Well if thats the case then she is just as bad as he is,lol. I thought when Dr Buss died he left orders as to who had say in what so there wasnt any misunderstanding on who did what. Which was Jim was to run day to day operations and make all basketball decisions, while Jeanie was incharge or promoting ans such.

To be fair guys, Boozer did help lead the Lakers from being behind from double digits to single digits at that point. That was probably their only good run of the night.
