Your definition of MVP is wrong. As long as you keep believing that's what an NBA MVP is you will most likely continuing to wonder why guys win that you don't think should.

Re: MVP of the season so far?

I'm not saying that the Heat missed the playoffs because LeBron left and nothing else happened or mattered.. I feel like you should trust my basketball logic a little more highly than that lol.

But what I'm saying is, regardless of what the end outcome was, they had a losing record before Bosh went down. The only large difference in the lineup was LeBron/Deng.. Yes Wade missed some games, but he missed games when LeBron was there too.. Some of those games they even had an upgraded front court, as McRoberts was there to start, and Whiteside came later on.

This team still had lots of talent, the same core guys, even Heat fans didn't expect them to drop off quite to that level. But I guess that's what happens when you depend on one guy to lead you in points, rebounds, assists, FG%, steals. It's hard to pick that slack back up.

Him leaving the Heat had a bigger impact on the team than I personally expected. I honestly thought they could snag the 3 seed.. And maybe they could have if everyone stayed healthy, but they sure as hell didn't look like it, they looked like ****. But just because I felt him leaving hurt them more than I would have guessed it doesn't mean I think that's the sole reason they missed the playoffs. That's why I'm calling it between the two original posts that I was referring too.

Haha I definitely hold your opinion in a higher regard, but I just think that there are too many variables to consider to just look it as black and white as, this guy swapped for this guy and look how much worse/better they got in this particular stretch of games. I'm pretty sure you understand that.

You're 100% right about Lebron but MIA tanked.
They would have made the playoffs but they got a couple injuries then tanked.

IMHO it should probably be CO-MVP because Harden and Curry both deserve it. I would go with Harden because he's putting up 'Lebron' numbers and he did all this with Jones and Howard missing A LOT of games. They didn't get Josh Smith or Brewer till halfway thru and quite frankly he's been on since day 1. Take him off the Rockets they're a lottery team.

Same with Curry although you take him away and you still got Klay who averages 20 but he'd be up to at least 24/25 minus Curry and everybody else would just move down the line. Barnes would avg a couple more. Draymond would most likely step up and be that 2nd guy and so forth and so on. That team is DEEP. It's like when KD won MVP but the Spurs won 60 games. Maybe Duncan or Parker could've won if it wasn't based on stats or whatever it's based on but my gut feeling is they'll give it to Curry with the best player on the best team reasoning.

And although I said it should be CO-MVP because the media really doesn't know, I would vote Harden myself. I just want CO because I have a feeling they won't give it to Harden even with the Rockets getting the 2nd seed. It's not even close IMO and I'm a huge Curry fan. I was telling ppl 2/3 years ago how Curry was better than Rondo and ppl were calling me crazy. This was the year he was averging like 24 & 9 too...lol. So, I'm a Curry fan but what how Harden kept the Rockets in competition was incredible to me.

            Cue the "Robbery" Hyperbole posts

Warriors guard Stephen Curry will be named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, according to multiple league sources in recent days.

Official announcement will come this week, sources said, likely on Monday between Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference semifinals series between the Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Why would it be "Robbery Hyperbole" to say that Harden should have won it?

I would have picked Harden but always assumed Curry would win. He had a great year, props to him.

Because there is no wrong answer here. If it went Harden cool. If it went Curry, cool.

Curry definitely deserved it, but Harden carried his team all season. Golden State could have rolled out lineups without Steph and still lock down a 6 seed. Without Harden, Houston is a lottery squad.

Still, congrats to Steph. Best shooter of all-time..

With who running point all year? Golden State is talented for sure, but the Western Conference is a monster man. Without Steph, Golden State is scrapping for that 8th seed with OKC and New Orleans.

                          No. Just...no.

That team is still a 50 win team without Curry.

8th might be a stretch, but they probably be no higher than 5th at best. 7th at there lowest. If i remeber right every game that steph didnt play, they lost.

Which was what, 2 games? You could say the same about Harden. Missed one game and they lost it.

Just don't see how you could say a team that runs 10-11 deep at times would be scrapping for an 8th seed.
