Re: MVP of the season so far?
And I agree. RW shouldn't win MVP but just looking at his FG% doesn't mean his stats were empty. While he was busy winning the scoring title, he was also putting up triple doubles at an alarming rate. And if he didn't have his own injuries to get over, the team probably would've been in the playoffs despite losing KD and Ibaka. Russ did work this year, just not enough to be MVP.Comment

Re: MVP of the season so far?
I havent really chimed in to this thread and I wanted to.
IMO i think James Harden should win the MVP although I think Steph should as well (my obvious bias)
James Harden literally carried the Rockets on his back all season and that's what MVP's do. Steph carried us at times as well and we wouldn't be near as good without him... but at the end of the day its MOST valuable...and Harden is clearly more valuable to his team.
All that being said...sure would be nice to have an MVP in Oakland...hell I'll even take a Co-MVP.
Side note: Sam Presti is a genius... good lord... KD, Russel and James? Three solid MVP caliber picks...talk about hitting the jackpot.#SimnationComment

Harden should win...His efforts this year ECHO Jordans when Jordan was the go to player on that team for a while pre Pippen say...plus just watchiing what Harden will do next is exciting. closest thing to Jordan or kobe we've seen in a while minus irving echoing iverson this year
Currys great but no leader
Westbrooks great and fearless but no leader
James? hes won it too many times but he undeniably the best in the gameBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: MVP of the season so far?
James is the most gifted player in the game and there really is no argument. But because of that he also costs a lot of money and tends to have other players wanting to get on a team with him (or off a team without him), so it'd be foolish to think that in either case, the teams he left/went to looked exactly the same as the year before/after, and his presence is all that effected the W/L record.Comment

Re: MVP of the season so far?
There have definitely been other circumstances to those teams dropping off with life after LeBron but he was still by far the biggest factor.
Still blows my mind how much he could/can impact players around him. Guys like Gibson, Pavlovic, couldn't even remain relevant in league after LeBron, Miami was able to win championships by signing guys off the couch and old players who were on their last legs. Start Joel Anthony in a finals series for crying out loud.
The Cavs this year in games with LeBron have a win percentage of .724 good for third in the league. Without LeBron .23 which is only better than the Knicks, Sixers, and Wolves. His direct impact is immeasurable by his numbers alone.
Harden should still be this years MVP. I would give LeBron equal footing with Curry though. But knowing how the award is usually given Curry is the player who meets the "best player on best team" criteria.
I still believe the co-MVP between Harden/Curry might be the best, or most fair, way for this years award to be given. I'm all for it

Re: MVP of the season so far?
I agree with you I'm from Cleveland and was one of those people that when he left said he did so because he couldn't lead the team and had to go to Miami and team up with other stars but seeing the impact he has had after leaving both of those teams has changed my mind some.I will say this watching LeBron this year compared to past years you can tell his body is already starting to break down if the cavs don't get a ring within the next 3 years they never will I have a feeling LeBron will not be a dominant player at 33.
Look at the Cavs roster before Lebron left, then look at the roster after he left (and account for injuries). Do the same thing with the Heat before and after.
Can do the same exercise with the teams before he arrived.
OJ makes some really good points that support what you're saying, but it's not like the teams were exactly the same and gaining/losing Lebron alone was a difference of 40+ games.Comment

It doesn't sound like you agree with me at all actually.

Re: MVP of the season so far?
I don't think it was a 40 game difference however you can see in the standings he makes a big difference I want a huge LeBron fan when he was with the cavs the first time around I thought he was a great player with way to much hype there's allot of great players in the nba that do not get the credit they deserve if I had to pick a mvp out would be westbrook I know they didn't make the playoffs but the hustle and heart he showed this year on top of his stats were unbelievable he put that Team on his back.Comment
