Who said anything about blowouts. We just wanted Wins. You say the NBA is so superior. If our players were, then our second team should have had better showings than the last two tourneys.

but they dont...there are stipulations in deals preventing guys from coming here


they won the last two tourneys, good for them, but what about the times when they were getting smacked by 40...

so your telling me...if i beat you in chess 100 times, then you beat me two games in a row...your all of a sudden on par with my skill level, even though i have beaten you 100 times...IN A ROW

you put kobe on sajuranas or artest or bowen or christie...and he is smashed...you know why, cause the level of defensive, in players, over here is clearly better than over seas...

team 2004 did not have defensive specialist or a all around player who can do that...kobe is one...so if he was playing would that kid have went off, NO f'n way

lemme say this again...we lost, in this tourny, due to bad 3point shooting and defending it...PERIOD

I guess. But the debate had nothing to do with why we lost. My point was the world is catching us in bball. I am no where near being alone in that theory.

Yes our premier players are still the best in the world. But the overall talent gap is closing, and we can no longer just roll a team of NBA All-Stars out there and win. We no longer intimidate other countries by just showing up. We have to put maximum effort out, with our very best players to win. This wasn't the case just 4 years ago or so. So yes the foreign players are catching us.
