If Josh Smith realizes that he can do this pretty much whenever he wants this Houston team will be ridiculous

That being said, the Rockets are getting a ludicrously high number of easy buckets at the rim, while everything the Mavs are getting are tough, challenged shots.

And yes, the Mavs have chemistry issues. Part of that comes from various injuries throughout the year, part of it comes from the Rondo trade and how much it has changed the style of play when he's in the game. Not having Harris in this game isn't helping either because its effecting the usual bench rotations, and I don't think we need to mention how not having a healthy Chandler Parsons effects this Mavs team.

Aminu needs more minutes. For the first time as well, I've seriously started questioning the trade. Rondo isn't engaged for whatever reason with this team. I guess he and Carlisle can't reconcile their differences halfway through a season. And I can't help but think how nice it would be to have Jae Crowder and Brandan Wright in a series like this.
Flopping and getting a lot of foul calls aren't the same thing. Houston absolutely plays to get to the line. 3's, layups, and freethrows. That's the gameplan and noone denies that.

Dwight does not flop. In fact he often gets penalized for NOT flopping. Also people will intentionally foul him because he is (usually*) a poor FT shooter and they'd rather not give up a dunk. James is (usually*) very aggressive and will drive often, swinging his arms up under the defenders or using his eurostep while the defender is back-peddling making the ref make a decision. Neither of these are flopping.

(*usually because tonight Dwight is killing it from the line and Harden is settling for step back J's).

Flopping is running into a screen and acting like you've been shot out of a cannon, or flying backwards whenever someone begins to back you down, flailing your arms and falling backwards whenever you take a fadeaway, etc.

Oh I agree that Dallas is making very tough shots while Houston is getting nothing but open looks though.

I was trying to be positive and look at the benefits of adding him, which I still think could potentially happen, but the trade looks worse and worse every day.

Really, on a whole, this Mavs roster is a bit of a mess. The biggest issue is a complete lack of capable and consistent jump shooters. Everyone on the team that regularly shoots 3's is streaky at best. When they're hot, the Mavs look fantastic, but they're just as capable of bricking open looks over and over again. And picking up a point guard that is deathly allergic to the jump shot while trading away two solid shooters didn't help matters.

There's a problem when Charlie Villanueva is your best shooter.

Flopping, exaggerating, whatever you want to call it, its laughable for a Rockets fan to be complaining about officiating. Harden gets some of the stupidest calls in the league.

Y'all can have fun arguing about which team outflops the other, but the first half was pretty bad both ways.

Funny thing is, earlier in the quarter Howard got caught around the neck by Stoudamire and it was called a common foul. That's why the announcers were like, "do we really need to review this?" I think it's the inconsistency that makes it worse. From game to game, the calls are going to be different, but this was literally minutes prior. Houston just has to not let it affect them and keep their heads about them.

It's all good, man. A part of me thought going to a veteran team like the Mavs just might work too.
